Fire near the cattle

I'm heading out to keep tabs on a big fire burning about 7 miles west of where we have a bunch of cattle. Right now the wind is taking it mostly north. But the area between the fire and the cows is just like a bomb. Thick junipers and sage brush. The last rain we had was July 3rd and the country is sure dry. Our neighbors have cattle closer to the fire, so i may end up helping open fences and move stuff east. Wish us luck, we could sure use it!

I live in Jerome IDAHO & we got a lot of your smoke and ashes blown into our valley. it did look like a big huge thunderstorm moving in. was blacker than black and as it got closer sure did look like a big bombshell of black smoke. most the black smoke has blown thru now, just the after smell - sure smells like a weird kinda fire. It also gave a good dusting to our vehicles and the backs of our cattle and livestock.

Well, we made it through a close one! The fire took out 12- 46000 volt power poles and shut down a state road all day today. But it kept going north and away from the livestock. When the front passed about 9 a.m. the wind switched to out of the north and the fire about put itself out!!!!!
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers from ya'll!!!! I was so excited to check the cows last night i forgot my camera. I should of had some really cool pictures! Maybe a few hot ones too! Sorry! Now if ya'll could order some rain? Thanks again! :D :D :D
