Celia Fire Thunder just can't keep her foot out of her mouth. I hope this time the attempt to impeach her actually happens. This is from http://sibbyonline.blogs.com/ today.
Sioux 2: More on leader planning tribal genocide
That is the title to a second Jill Stanek column regarding plans to put a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic on South Dakota's Pine Ridge Reservation. Note the links that were included to support this well researched column:
In my previous column, I wrote about Oglala Sioux President Cecilia Fire Thunder, who has threatened to open an abortion clinic on South Dakota's Pine Ridge Reservation if the new state abortion ban is enacted.
It turns out Fire Thunder is a former abortion clinic worker, something she omitted from her resume until two weeks ago.
Before then, Fire Thunder described that time of her career as "healthcare giver" – intriguing terminology, since she helped kill at least half her patients.
Now it all makes sense. I am reminded of the proverb: "As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly."
It also turns out that Fire Thunder's announcement to "establish a Planned Parenthood clinic on my own land" was impromptu, a private remark she later agreed to make public, according to Tim Giago, writer of the story.
That explains why Fire Thunder failed to check with Planned Parenthood, which has since stated it has no plans to open an abortion mill on the Oglala reservation.
Fire Thunder also forgot to check with her tribe. Again.
Now, Oglala tribe member William Birdnecklace has filed impeachment charges against Fire Thunder, with an injunction to stop her from annihilating her people via abortion.
This is based on tribal law that states:
A child conceived, but not born, is to be deemed an existing person so far as may be necessary for its interests and welfare to be protected in the event of its subsequent birth.
Fire Thunder seems to attract impeachment charges. This is her third since being elected less than two years ago.
It was only this past January that Fire Thunder came off a two month suspension after the previous two impeachment complaints.
Charges against Fire Thunder included, interestingly, failure to pay tribal Head Start bills.
She was also accused of embezzlement, fraud, perjury, threats of bodily harm, and trespassing.
The most serious charge was that Fire Thunder pawned tribal land to secure a $38 million loan from another tribe.
But all charges were dismissed without a hearing by a tribal council that included a convicted felon who was also named in the complaint.
Speaking of embezzlement, Fire Thunder is accepting donations for her abortion clinic at her personal post office box in Martin, S.D. Checks can be made out to "OST Planned Parenthood Cecelia Fire Thunder," even though Planned Parenthood apparently isn't participating.
To their credit, liberal bloggers who initially greeted Fire Thunder's plan with bloodthirsty whoops have since curbed their enthusiasm after researching her history.
Fire Thunder worsened her previous troubles by showing disrespect to her elders.
During an interview on KILI radio, Fire Thunder declared: "I want to know what the hell are you doing meddling in politics?" in response to their questions about using tribal land as a loan guarantee.
Afterward Fire Thunder admitted: "I made a statement that added fuel to the fire."
Perhaps Fire Thunder should consider changing her name to Cecilia Fire Starter or Cecilia Foot In Mouth. She does seem to have a penchant.
Following, are statements Fire Thunder has made to fuel the current fire:
We just want to make sure that something is done for women who make that [abortion] decision ... It's between her and God and that unborn baby.
Cecilia, I can't believe I'm the one to remind you about the abortion industry's cardinal rule: Never refer to those blobs of tissue or products of conception as "unborn babies."
Also, explain how an unborn baby can be in on the decision to chop her into little pieces?
It's my personal opinion that it's a woman's choice ... [T]he only person she is going to be accountable to is the Creator and the spirit of that child.
Whoops, Cecilia, you did it again. "Child" – another forbidden word.
Also, I'm curious. According to Sioux beliefs, how do the spirits of your murdered people respond to their murderers? How does the Creator respond? Do the responses include those who helped?
In our culture, children are sacred, but women are sacred, too, and somebody who has been victimized by rape or incest should have options.
Cecilia, "children"? Knock it off already!
Also, explain the feasibility of one sacred Sioux entity pitting itself against another. That would seem to throw off the balance of nature.
And is it not hypocritical to fight to protect sacred land like the Black Hills, but fight to destroy your admittedly sacred children?
And as an aside, don't you understand that abortion is the No. 1 enabler of sexual criminals by helping them hide their crimes?
If [the abortion clinic] is meant to be, it'll happen. We pray a lot.
Cecilia, to whom do the Sioux pray for spiritual help to open an abortion clinic?
Jill Stanek fought to stop "live-birth abortion" after witnessing one as a registered nurse at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill. In 2002, President Bush asked Jill to attend his signing of the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. In January 2003, World Magazine named Jill one of the 30 most prominent pro-life leaders of the past 30 years. To learn more, visit Jill's blog, Pro-life Pulse.
