We went to a friends house for a BBQ and visit with friends. Stayed and watched the fireworks in Haines from their yard which has to be 3 or 4 miles from Haines. After the fireworks we gathered up our stuff and left. When we got to highway 30 I was shocked. I hadn't thought about this The entire town of Baker must have emptied out and went to Haines to watch the show. It was a solid line of traffic headed back to Baker. After about 200 cars we caught an opening. Once we got to the freeway we had it to our self. In the 25 miles I saw one other car east bound on the freeway.

Fireworks ban in Buffalo, WY. Cousin's wife sells fireworks in town, and has for years. A ranch outside of town had ordered $4000 worth of fireworks. With their permission she and the other fireworks stand moved a bunch of fireworks out there to sell. I haven't heard how that went, yet. I do know some people out that way lost their dog because he was so scared. They have been looking for him but haven't found him yet. They did find trash where people set off fireworks and left the trash behind. 😡
I was amazed a couple of years ago when she mentioned some individuals buy a thousand dollars of fireworks each year. That's the biggest, fastest way of wasting money ever (except gambling and then at least, you have a small chance of getting it back.)

I grew up in Puyallup WA. The Puyallup fair (aka the Washington State Fair) had a grandstand show every night for 9 days back then (it is now 19 days). It ended with a fireworks show every night. We could watch the show from our house. Then I chased rodeos. You know how many rodeos end with a fireworks show? Before moving here I lived about 5 miles from an Indian reservation for 37 years. In WA they are the only ones who sell the good fireworks anymore. I have seen enough fireworks that I am not impressed at all by them.
