Well Ty lowered the boom tonight-he'd just went out with his buddy when they spotted this bear-about 150 yard shot with the .270-they got it all on video too-which is pretty neat. Not a huge bear but will square six feet or so-he's pretty pumped about it. Had to camo up and get a good field pic.

Congratulations, Ty!. There are few things that beat the big rush of getting that first one!

NR, I'll bet the old man was about as excited as the son, maybe? That's the way it is around here, anyway. I didn't go bear hunting with my boys, but the stories they come home with are always supremely interesting and when Jeremy came home with his first bear it was pretty cool. Used a .270BLR. Bear poked his head up out of the oats and lights out.

Do you eat any bear meat? It's kinda different, not my favourite. Makes O.K. sausage.

YumYum-had bear backstrap fried up with lemon pepper for breakfast -tasty stuff-the hindquarters are going into sausage-those wild fed bears are good stuff. The girls like it so must be good.

No but we do have alot of color phase black bear-there was even a pure white sow roaming around a few years back-we've got a good black and brown now I'd like to get a blonde or cinnamon phase. We've got Ty's hunt on video it's pretty cool-they'd called it out the night before.

Was it an Albino bear? That would be a cool trophy.
They have white black bears in a certain spot in BC. I think they are in the NW but I might be wrong. But other than them, I have never heard tell of or seen a white black bear.
Those ones in BC are protected if I remember right.

I don't think this one was a pure albino-she difdn't have pink eyes-if I remember righhjt she had normal coloured cubs. Those bears in B.C. are Kermode's a bluish phase of black bears-sometimes they're called Glacier bears-bears are cool to hunt if you get on the ground and go after them-I told Ty things would get interesting after he shot and they did for a bit lol
