Yeah people forget hpw to drive and leave their brains at home.

I took out the dog house after the first snow storm. I had taken the truck out of 4 wheel drive and forgot it had rained then snowed.
No worries. The dogs were not around the dog house.
The barn cats were not happy though that was their house.

Watching the weather last night....11 below in Montana. Don't see how you folks handle that. I was sitting here in a pair of shorts and a teeshirt.

Holy Hanna, its cold. I've seen colder but that first cold snap always gets me. It was a balmy - 10 lastnight. The windchill right now is - 12. I did have an idea I'm gonna try though. I'm gonna gather up a bunch of empty Crown Royal sacks and tie them on the bulls this year so we don't have anymore frozen nuts. I'm trying to figure out what kinda of knot will hold best though. Don't want it too tight or I'll defeat my purpose. Any ideas?

One that might be appropriate is the Crown Sinnet knot. It would be innappropriate to use a Cow Hitch, or a Sheepshank. For sure, don't use the Sheet Bend, because you don't want to bend the sheet.

You wouldn't want to use a well known northern packer's hitch known as the axeknot either.

Is there such a knot as the "bull-line"?

Another knot that wouldn't work is the Clove-r Hitch. The bull would be continually licking at his Crown Royal sack.

Winds are supposed to kick up tonight...wind chill factor -35, we'll see if the bus runs tomorrow. If not, I'm not going to drive anyone to school. So MCG can help around the house tomorrow :D

At least I think we're ready for this of course it's been here all along :(

I let "Jinglebob" my blue merle chihuaha outside to take her morning pee. I wasn't too worried as she is so close to the ground, but its so cold she froze up midstream. Once she figured out what the weedburner was for, I finally got her to finish her business. - 14 this morning with a windchill about -30.

Should have tried butchering turkeys yesterday. The wind chill got so bad, by the time we scalded the birds and hung them to be plucked the water on the feathers was already freezing.
Last bird got hand plucked. My right hand is a little stiff this morning.

Our dogs went out did the their business and in less then 5 minutes they were barking to be let back in.
Never knew Corgis could shiver that bad. Poor puppies.
