I took these Friday night. Eastern SD sure got pounded last night with bad storms, baseball size hail, and tornados. I sure hope everyone is safe.

We didn't get the storm friday nite, but had some heavy rains saturday nite. It didn't get here till late, so not much for picture taking. Clouds are something that always change and easy to capture..they don't move like deer do! lol Thanks for sharing

My in-laws live at Burke, SD. They had bad hail storm. Took out several windows. Don't know much more right now. But if you have to have a hail storm, better now before the crops are up and looking good.

We are dry right now... not real dry but the surface of the ground is pretty dusty right now. Dig down a few inches and it is nice and moist but that doesn't do much for seed germination. All the planters were running full tilt yesterday hoping to get as much ground planted as possible before the rain hit last night... Rain barely hit yesterda, maybe a tenth of an inch... Maybe less. Rain kind of died at the border with Iowa, or at least that is what the maps looked like. Another good chance tuesday night/Wed. so I am sure they will be running 24 hours a day to get the corn in before May 1st...

Feeder,

Ya, we got 1.30 inches out of the deal. We couldn't be happier. Looks like we will have grass this year. :D :D :D I sure hope that the rain keeps moving west. Some guys haven't gotten near as much, and they all need it.

Nice pics.. :) I wonder what our summers going to be like with the crazy weather we are all having.

Last Wed. eve we had a wet snow storm with an electrical storm thrown in at same time :???: We didn't get it as bad as some poeple not too far from us really got the snow bad,it was heavy and broke lots of power poles in half...daughter in laws parents haven't had power since Wed,and they're deep into calving. Her dad went into town to get a generator, none to be found in a hour radius because the Hutt colonys bought them all up...lol

That is some very attractive country in your pictures TTB. Your area always looks different in every set of pictures you post. I like the country in these pictures a lot. Wouldn't mind having some of it. :)

You and me both! I wish I could lay claim to this area, but it just happens to be an area I drive through pretty often. It's about 10 miles north of the ND-SD border on ND Hwy 31 where it crosses the Cedar River. Near where these buttes are is the confluence of the Cedar and Cannonball Rivers. There is a similar area about 10 miles south of the ND-SD border on SD Hwy 65.

Honestly Tap, your pictures with all the cool buttes, pinnacles, and other features inspired me to stop and take the pictures.

The deer are on our place...rather dull landscape, eh?

Oh well TTB, they are beautiful pictures no matter where they were taken. Looks like the kind of country that would be good for winter grazing to me. But being up there, they probably feed all winter and graze it all summer. :)

I have seen some very simular terrain over in your area haven't I?????? The creeks with timber on them anyway.

Feel free to take your camera with you anytime the urge strikes you. :!:
