Republicans in the House came to power vowing to govern by the book -- or in the case of the Constitution, by the parchment.

And partly as a nod to Republican representatives elected as part of the conservative Tea Party movement, one of the first acts of the newly GOP-controlled House will be to read that founding document aloud on Thursday.Though it has been inserted as text into the Congressional Record before, the supreme law of the land has never been read aloud before in the body known as "the People's House."

The man responsible for the exercise, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., says it's more than just a simple civics lesson.

"This is a very symbolic showing to the American people," said Goodlatte, "and it's a powerful message to members of Congress. We are a nation of laws, not of men."

not bad for astroturf racists!!! :D :D :D :D
American's are changing and waking up!!

I would think in two hundred + years that they would have found time to read it...

but then again... they seldom read anything they pass....

Did you hear some Dems protested the reading of the Constitution? One even claim the Republicans were treating the Constitution as a Sacred document as if he figured it was just a piece of paper with no meaning to him. How can you swear to uphold something if you don't even care what it says or don't understand just how important those group of words are. :x

There is no excuses for the attitudes of some Dems.

Howard Dean was quoted as saying he didn't care if Obamacare was Constitutional or not. WHAT IS WITH THESE PEOPLE?

Obamacare was never about health care, it was about CONTROL.
It was so close to being in their grasp, too. Oh, there are gonna
be a lot of upset liberals if Obamacare goes down.

GO TEA PARTY!!

Remember how refusal of coverage due to pre-existing conditions was one of the main "selling points"?

the Outrage of denial of coverage is often after a person pays for coverage only to be denied when they become ill.. and should be addressed and fixed..

but it appears that the health care bill neither addressed nor fixed that...
