Nice pictures, Jassy. I envy you folks that have planes to pasture check. It is always fun to fly.

I did take flying lessons while in college, back in the spring of 1971. Back then it cost $12 per hour for the plane (a two-seater side-by-side Piper Colt with a nose-wheel), and $4 per hour for the instructor. My log book reads 14 hours of dual instruction and two hours of solo time.

Lyle Kime, who grew up down by where you live, was a very competent instructor. At about that time, he was killed in a plane crash. My powder kind of got damp and it seemed like a terribley expensive hobby, so I gave it up. :?

Nice Pics! Can you drop a sack of mineral into the container from up there?

The other day near I 90 someone had one of those powered parachutes up what looked to be pretty darn high. Anybody ever used one of those, look like they'd be fun, but what happens if the wind comes up strong without much warning?

Your'e right Easty...If we have a head wind...I watch the cars below pass us..lol

Soapweed...I've heard many stories from Les and Betty about Lyle...that was a sad situation. Flying is a great thing to check pastures,,,on nice days...it's not always handy when the weather is bad...and with the cost of AV GAS it about averages out the same with me driving all the pastures and windmills in a few days compared to an hour of flying. We enjoy the flying and wished we could do more for fun....Poor hubby is having to learn to fly within Photo shot now...lol

We have neighbors with planes and know some other area ranchers with them. The day of my Dad's birthday we sat up a huge tent for the day took up the front yard. One of the area rancher's was flying over stopped in to just see what the tent was all about. Noticed it from the air.............LOL :D
