I finally got this pdf to download from the scotusblog:

http://sblog.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/01-21-Terry-Amicus-10-542.pdf

Some interesting reading for those of you who have a few minutes. But I guess what I was looking for is simply a list of those "55 Farming, Ranching, and Consumer Organizations in Support of the Petitioner."

I'd also like to see the names, if any, of those who filed in support of Tyson.

I'll send you a PM.

Another Lincoln, Rep. Lincoln Davis, my representative, was thrown out for the same reason, and yes, he signed the letter at the behest of the lobbying of the meat packers. People in my area held him accountable.

Did I miss something?

Do you still live in Texas as your profile states?

Lincoln Davis was the former U.S. Representative for Tennessee

So how was Lincoln Davis your rep if you live in Texas and he was from Tennessee?

I also know family farmers who called me recently because they were going broke because they weren't paid enough. One of them told me that they were told by Tyson that if they didn't heat their houses enough that Tysons would call PETA on them. They haven't been paid enough to pay for the propane costs to cover the variable costs per flock. They were not bad growers, either.

Tex

So Tyson is going to call PETA. Surely the HSUS will be called next to film an undercover video.

Please. If folks are calling you for advise, at least do them a favor and help them recognize BS when they hear it.

BMR, that is what a farmer said they were telling farmers.

If you don't heat enough with propane enough and ventilate (all ventilation is cold air that then needs to be heated again), you get ammonia buildup and it blinds the little chickens.

On one hand you can't afford to do it and on the other you hate to see your chickens blinded.

I don't take seriously Tyson's threat about calling PETA. I do take the threat to make these growers heat more serious. They have already cut out propane pay to some of the growers who they thought didn't use enough propane.

The farmers pay for the propane.

You are welcome to disbelieve anything you want. It really doesn't bother me one way or another.
