Food Stamp Use.----- Calling OLDTIMER

Here is an issue for you to defend Oldtimer as a Democrat Cultist, the US is 17+ trillion dollars in debt and the Food Stamp Program has skyrocketed under Obama, but in Colorado the Democrats just voted NO on a state bill to stop food stamp cards being used in ATM in Marijuana shops.

Should People be able to use their food stamp funds to buy POT or should the Dems be held accountable for every cent spent in a pot shop due to their NO VOTE on a bill that would have stopped it?

Should Military families see their benefits cut so dead beat Democrat voters can have federal money to BUY POT in states where it is legal?

Should military families have their benefits cut so Democrat voters can use their food stamp cards to go to Florida's Disney World?

Can you defend these Food Stamp Abuses that the Dems are SUPPORTING WITH THEIR VOTES while cutting Military benefits to the bone?

why is a food stamp card allowed to be used in any ATM?

I thought it was for food not free cash..

That is a very good question maybe Oldtimer cares to explain why his party of choice has decided to allow SNAP card be used in ATM to get cash.

I hear some are even using their cards in ATM AT STRIP CLUBS. Wonder if that cash is being used for anything resembling FOOD FOR POOR STARVING CHILDREN. :?

They were talking about this on the FIVE today and Bob Beckel just went nuts because he saw it as the others were making it look as if EVERYONE is abusing the system and EVERYONE should be cut off. You mention investigating the abuse of the food stamp system and the Liberal left goes nuts and accuses you of wanting CHILDREN TO STARVE. Same with the Welfare system or SS you want the abuse to be investigated and it is like you are asking to have Grandma cut off and she is die.

Billions in abuse but don't bother thinking a Democrat is going to do anything about it as it might hurt their voting base. They would rather cut the military to the point of risking the soldiers lives before they would risk cutting off the Surfer Dude for getting his lobster and cigs.

I don't know why I answer you- since you LIE constantly ... As I've told you I'm not a Democrat... But neither am I a Republican... I am an Independent- altho over the years I've probably voted for way more Repubs, then Dems... I fall more into the Libertarian realm- fiscally conservative while more socially liberal/tolerant..

As far as Foodstamps-- I've often said the program needs major change- starting with going back to only the foodstuffs that were allowed inititally under the program when it was started in the 60's and 70's... Back when it provided basic foods - before the seafood lobby got shrimp, crab, and lobster added- and other lobbies added other exotic foods..
And it needs to stiffen the penalties and add additional enforcement for any violators- whether users or retailers...

Foodstamps when it initially came out was one of the best welfare programs- as it provided food for the needy while supporting agriculture prices... But like so many parts of the welfare program it was allowed to run estray...

As far as military cuts- weren't part of these cuts done by Congress in the sequester cuts in order to pass a spending bill?

And I have long backed cutting military spending... As an old time conservative/libertarian I believe we should be keeping our nose out of the worlds conflicts- and quit being the policemen of the world... And for darn sure we should quit invading sovereign nations in trumped up wars where we spend Trillions $ and kill and maim thousands of our troops...

Last year we budgeted/spent 4 times what the next country (China) spent... 8 times more than Russia, 11 times more than the UK, Japan, France, or Saudi Arabia, 15 times more than India or Germany, 30 times more than either Australia or Canada... My belief is we need to be putting more of our taxdollars into our own citizens and country's infrastructure and let some of these other countries do the policing of the world...

Same with foreign aid- let these other countries dig into their pockets for aid to these 3rd world countries........

The world's top 6 military spenders in 2012.

maybe if you supported TEA party folk you would see those reforms...

“Our system of helping ensure that no one goes hungry in our country is a noble one, but we’re now asking to spend $750 billion on food stamps,” he said on the Senate floor. “When we ask this, we need to remember that recently a woman in Chicago faked the birth of triplets in order to receive $21,000 in food stamps.”

“We need to remember that millionaires, including Larry Ficke, who won $2 million, are still receiving food stamps because he says he has got no income. He has got $2 million but no income.”

Last year, Ficke won $2 million from the Michigan lottery, but was still allowed to collect food stamps because of a loophole.

“So we’re paying millionaires food stamps,” Paul added. “It’s out of control. It’s not about helping those in need. It’s about being wise with the taxpayer dollars and not giving people $20,000 a year in food stamps.”

Paul offered an amendment to the farm bill that would convert the SNAP program into block grants, requiring states to administer the program. The amendment would have cut $280 billion over the next decade by freezing annual funding at $45 billion, according to Paul. The amendment failed by a 65-33 vote.

WORDS I don't care what you claim you are Oldtimer, your continued defence of your Obama Vote tells all of us just exactly what you are. And the fact you skip right over the fact the Dems voted to allow the use of SNAP cards in ATM at Pot Shops tells me you still will not object to anything Dems do.

These are the military Cuts that Hagel announced Yesterday that are a part of the Obama new budget that will be going to the Congress soon. Gates said these cuts when he was asked to make them would hurt the future of the US military's readiness if the US is attacked again and would put those protecting your rights to sit behind your computer screen and call people racists, as risk. .

SO Do you support cutting the Military's benefits/pay/pensions so Obama can buy votes from those too d*mn lazy to get a full time job and provide for themselves without a GOVERNMENT HANDOUT/subsidy for healthcare. As that is what Obama is doing to the Military with his cuts.

Other characteristics of the budget will likely draw further ire from veterans groups and members of Congress. The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Hagel would recommend a limit on military pay raises, higher fees for health-care benefits, less generous housing allowances, and a one-year freeze on raises for top military brass.

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, warned that the cuts would hurt military readiness. And he said the country is only in this position because the Obama administration and Congress will not seriously take on cuts to entitlements.

What do you think these cuts are going to do to the US military soldiers and their families Oldtimer. Who do you believe deserves the funds the Soldiers or pot heads and guys going to strip clubs?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/02/25/increased-domestic-spending-may-be-behind-proposed-military-cuts-cbo-report/

The CBO report finds that mandatory spending, which includes Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, is projected to rise $85 billion, or 4 percent, to $2.1 trillion this year.

Interest on the debt is worse. It is projected to increase 14 percent per year, almost quadrupling in dollar terms between 2014 and 2024. "We are going to be spending more in interest in a couple of years then we do on national defense," House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon, R-Calif., told Fox News.

My grandfather from Minnesota was a Democrat, although his offspring and their offspring are now good Republicans. He died in 1970, but before that he and my dad would have some pretty interesting political discussions. One time when we were little kids, my sisters and I were playing Rummy with Grandpa. I did something to offend Sybil, and she hollered out, "You darned dirty Democrat." I laughed, but my grandpa didn't. :)

Being called a Democrat was then, and is still, the ultimate insult.

If a Democrat ever really looked at what he was aligning himself with in the voting booth, he might change his mind.

And I have long backed cutting military spending...

yep just cut the military,.. send the troops home and save some money..

but what about the unintended consequences of liberal policy?

many military are having trouble finding work...

cutting the military comes with it's own costs..

most will get some sort of severance or retirement..

and they will get a comprehensive physical.. and compensation for any physical and mental problems .. but the VA pays for that...

and since they were working ... and now they are out of work,.. they get unemployment..

Most will qualify for food-stamps rental assistance,.. help with utilities..

and well that all comes from the budget..

but it isn't the end of the costs..

they will have to train new guys to replace the old..

if one guy is going to do more jobs.. due to the cuts.. then training costs go up..

the few left will deploy more.. increasing costs..

more of them will get out.. and that will require a new person who needs costly training..

oh and those guys getting out.. most earned training/educations ,.. and now get to go to college or trade school.. and since they are going to be out of work,.. I would expect more of them to go back to school.

this will come out of the DOD and VA's budget..

they did this before.. and the cost was enormous..

that was under Clinton...

The additional cuts will have to be taken from military pay, training, weapons procurement or other Pentagon accounts. And the cutting may not stop with the $ 88 billion Aspin mentioned: Some say the cuts will top the $ 100 billion mark when more detailed versions of the budget are released later this year.

"We seem to go through one of those every 20 years, and that's too often as far as I'm concerned," says Boles. "These people all came in as volunteers, both civilian and military, and they're good people. So if we have to ask them to leave, we have to be very careful to offer them as much transition assistance as possible.

yep cut the military but spend more on unemployment, food-stamps retraining ,..

and then we can just sit back and wait to see who thinks we are a soft target.. last time it was a few crazy muslims ..
