As I understand it, it is a "Free Trade" agreement for investment.

If a Chinese state run organization invests in an Alberta oilsands company, then a canadian company should be allowed to invest in a Chinese company.

It outlines the tax obligations etc.

the author of that article, GUS VAN HARTEN, is the author of most of the articles that I have seen on the net, concerning the treaty.

Like I said, I haven't read too much about it, but it appears this Van Harten is against all free trade agreements.

The link that I posted is the one to read, I guess, becasue it is the actual treaty, posted by the federal Governmnet. I might take a closer look later.
