how does your body react to bouncing around from Mountain time to Central Time and vice versa? Does it throw you way off? Just curious is all. I know when I visit family out in South Central South Dakota, we all look forward to the fact that in the summer, there's daylight until almost 10pm (Central time).

We just have to plan accordingly. Valentine is our county seat and is 60 miles away, besides being in a different time zone. Since we've never known otherwise it is not too hard to deal with. Once in my younger days I had an official position at a wedding. Forgetting the time difference, I was an hour late to the rehearsal. :( Rehearsals are for practice, so I was all practiced up to be on time for the real deal the next day.

You know what Pat Parelli says, Soap.
Practice doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect.

Sure glad to hear you made the real deal on time!!

Growing up the ranch was in Mountain Time Zone, but everyone ALWAYS went by Central Time Zone because that is where everyone did business. The switchover where people actually went by Mountain Time was prolly 100 miles or so in....due to the proximity of towns...

This sounds bad, but as of 2 A.M last night my clocks now all read the correct time because I failed to change them all forward in the Spring when we were suppose to, I just always added an hour to the time! Now I'll have to be sure I don't do that cuz if I do I'll be EARLY !!!!

In the fall it takes about a week to get adjusted to the time change. In the summer we don't pay much attention to what the clock says anyway.

Don't want to hi-jack this thread! But........

We live on the west side of central/mountain time zone. TV stations are on Central time. Anytime you deal with people in the Central time, everything has to be on their time, even if they come here to work. "Start time is 8" they say "is that 9 my time or 7?" Not a big deal for me, but what is a big deal is with the schools!
Kids on the west side of Central time zone, go to school in the dark. Right now it's light out, but a lot of the year, it's dark!
Case in point: An elementary student was found on the step of the school by a food service worker at 6 am. Temperature was well below 0 F. This student didn't know what time it was because they were to used to going to school in the dark, thought they were late for school, so got dressed and went to school. Parents were still in bed! "Savings time" is for city adults that need another round of golf after work, or time to clean up the yard. Kids come second, not first! :(

I vote for sunrise to always be 6:AM! Don't waste daylight that way, and don't have to get up at an obscene hour to start using it, right?

Bouncing between the time zones turns out to be a pain. Our kids went to school in one time zone and the rural school functions were in another time zone. We'd leave at the crack of dawn to get there.
