The way I read this article it was written in the 50's where young women went to finishing school to become the perfect wife.
At that time didn't men usually do all the outside work like mowing the lawn, cleaning the gutters, shoveling the sidewalk, the odd plumbing and electrical repairs etc.
Also the men were usually home at night from working their 8-5 bankers hours jobs.
So I could easily be that woman, that would actually be a dream job. If all I had to do was look after the kids keep the house clean and make sure I am perky and presentable with a hot meal and a cool drink for my hubby at night.
The question is how many of us are out calving, doing all the yard work, driving big machinery, looking after the kids, making all the meals, keeping a spotless home, handling all the finances, and running all the errands, doing laundry, even buying the men's clothes for them so they can concentrate on their jobs that take them away for weeks at time but are very much needed to actually pay the bills in the times of a fallen cattle industry.
So heck ya, give me a dress and a pair of heals I would gladly trade that just to see my husband for more than a couple of days a week.....
