IL Rancher said:Pendejo is etymologically related to the Latin pectiniculus, meaning pubic hair or anal hair. It may be translated as a-hole in many situations, though it carries an extra implication of rank and willful incompetence. The less extreme version, which is used in most Spanish speaking countries is the term 'jack a$$.'
In Mexico, Central and Northern South America, pendejo refers to a stupid person, synonymous with idiota, although it is a much stronger word in Mexico and Central America than it is in Panama, where, while still impolite, it is not as offensive, especially among younger people. In Peru it means a person who gains benefits from an advantageous situation in an immoral manner and if it used referring to a female, "ella es una pendeja", means she is promiscuous. In South America pendejo is also a vulgar, yet inoffensive word, for children. It also signifies a person with a disorderly or irregular life. In Puerto Rico it has different meanings depending on the situation. It can range from "Te cogieron de pendejo!" = "You were fooled!" (e.g. by a conman), to "Qué tipa pendeja!" = "What an a-hole!" (e.g. when some unknown woman unexpectedly offends you with no apparent motive, and just leaves turning her back on you). In Mexico and some countries of Central America, especially El Salvador, "una pendejada" is used to describe something incredibly stupid that someone has done. In many countries, "pendejo" also means coward (with a stronger connotation), as in "No huyas, pendejo!" = "Don't run away, chicken-s***!".

And they didn't even catch on to it!!!!!
Love it!
Steve, why would that simple sentece give you trouble? Our world is ' small' today! You seem to be an authority and/or fluent in everything else posted on the boards so it's odd that would give you trouble?

Actually it was your bad grammar...that confused me. When I asked a lady that is Mexican (and well educated) she explained that it is a common error to use plurals in place of singulars when writing.....when she read it she actully chucked...epecially when I told her that you chastized my spelling....
pequeño with out the ñ is well, pequeno....and misspelled.
Seems often something is lost in the translation....but at least I can spell your name right.

Steve...so far you have claimed to be Native and fluent in ( Cherokee) that language....now you're also of Spanish/Mexican descent also and fluent in that........DAMN!!!!

No, I just corrected your misspelling of your name....never claimed to be fluent nor that up on Cherokee....that was your claim, which I disproved...
As for the Spanish I was doing some studying recently with a friend..I hadn't spoke Spanish for about 25 years,...and she chuckled at your usage of the words.....she may have chucked at my usage at some terms....but didn't in my presence...
as for actual claims, any I make are true. Never was good at being a wannabe...if I wanted to do something I would at least try...and have fun learning new things...
as for the Native part what am I supposed to do, move back on the REZ? What would that prove? I could easily point you to the houses I lived in (some are shacks) and show the schools I went to,I have no desire to go back to what I left.......and as far as that goes I have nothing to prove to any one..Did you ever live on the Rez?..doubt it..........at least I didn't make up a name and then miss-spell it...
as for your attempt at Spanish..
I just couldn't understand what you typed....I even admitted I had trouble..but with help I was able to figure it out. so why the big deal?
and now you get nasty again.....good to see nothing changes....only now.....Your Rude and you can't spell....and your grammar sucks....
Hey, kola. Sorry, but I guess I missed your question yesterday. We got lucky and missed the biggest part of the ice. The yankee-types north of here and the messcun-types south of here took the brunt of it. :lol:kolanuraven said:tee hee hee " X"
By the by...did ya get any of that ice storm?
Steve, it's okay to cut down Kolanuraven, but you should leave her relatives out of it. Her grammer is probably a pretty good ol' lady if the truth was known.![]()

Lucky you take the time for us ' ignert' folks then!!!
On the Rez here you're what's called a " wanna-be" I'm thinking!!!
I swear some you folks have arse holes so tight you couldn't drive in a tack with a sledge hammer!!!
where did Steve claim he was of Mexican/Spanish descent? and no where did I see him claim to be fluent?
