MANILA, Philippines - Former President Corazon Aquino, who swept away a dictator with a "people power" revolt and then sustained democracy by fighting off seven coup attempts in six years, died on Saturday, her son said. She was 76.

No tears from me or the wife on Cory being room temperature. Marcos was far from perfect, but life under his regime was one helluva lot better for the Pinoys than with Cory at the helm. She pretty much single handedly ruined the country, IMHO. I could see first hand where Marcos made lots of improvements in the lives of everyday folks, but Cory had to shut the bases down and send all the Kano techs home. Things went in the crapper after that.

Funny thing is, Marcos and Ninoy Aquino were cousins. But they were also cousins to Fidel Ramos, the next Presidnet in Pee Eye after Cory.
