To Canadians its better known as Ft. Mcmoney. Ya huge wages, even larger home prices. We were in Ft. Mac in June, when greg was competing in rescue competion. Really other then the housing we didn't find the other consumer goods much different then anywhere else in Alta. Maybe the groceries were a bit more.Lots of people who work at the Sands commute from work to thier homes and stay in camps. They need SOOO many people the incentives are Nuts, and they pay for transportation.
greg took his second year of mechanics there and we lived there for two months years ago,I like the place.

It is for sure a neat place...ummm$300 hundred thous. for an rv is a huge stretch, but a older mobile home, probably 200thou. ummm, new homes were around 700thou.I think our groceries in Alta. are higher then Eastern Canada anyway, daughters BF from Nova Scotia was shocked at what we pay for groceries and we were shopping in a Sobeys.
you make a trip to Alta. we'll take you to Ft. Mac and tour the town and the Sands....for sure a neat tour.

Personally,I'd go for June, spring in Alta. can be a yucky mess. We're four hours west of Calgary, from our place another six? hrs to Ft.Mac. plan on staying a few weeks then you can do some touring. See you then hopefully. :)
