I was going through some stuff we brought back from my dad's place last year and found his old autograph book. Some dates are 1932. Remember the autograph books we used to take to school and kids/teachers would sign them?

Here are some old ones from dad's that I thought you might get a kick
out of. I know I did.

1) When I die, bury me deep
Put my English book under my feet.
Put my Algebra book on my chest
Tell Mrs. Roberts I did my best.
Put my Civic book under my head
Tell Miss Hughes she knows why I'm dead;
There's no use to grieve, so please don't cry
I met my death at Boliver High.

2)
Friends on earth are very few
And should be very dear;
If ever you had a friend on earth
Her name is written here.
A friend,
Ruth

3)
Remember the father,
Remember the past
Remeber the girl
that kissed you last.
(no signature)!

4)
In your fruitcake of friends
remember me as a nut.

5)
Potatoes are ripe and must be dug,
Girls are sweet and must be hugged.

Then below it written by the same person:
Many a ship is lost at sea
For want of tire and rubber
Many a boy has lost his girl
By flirting with another.

6)
Pattie's love is a funny thing;
something like a lizard.
It wraps around your neck
and jumps into your gizzard.

7)
2 Y's you are
2 Y's you be
I C U R
2 Y's 4 me.

8)
You know a funny old bird the pelican;
With his beak near as big as his bellican;
He can get enough in his beak
to last him a week;
and I don't see how in the hellican.

9)
Pattie had a little rooster, fed him dough
He got so fat he couldn't crow.

Remember me until your soda pops.

10)
Remember me and keep in mind,
Chickens teeth are hard to find.

11)
When you get old and cannot see,
Put on your specs and think of me.

12)
When you grow old and ugly
As young folks sometimes do
Remember you have a friend
Who is old and ugly too.

13)
There's germs in kisses
I've heard it stated;
But kiss me kid,
I'm vaccinated.

That wasn't all of them, of course. But you get the idea.
They are kind of corny but what the heck,
they were written 74 years ago...
