We'll let this bunch eat while we do the ones in the corral first.

The black Ritchey tag is their new number. We leave their calfhood tag in place just because sometimes it is convenient to know their mother.

Some of these are heifers I bought in October of 2009. At that time they averaged weighing 581 pounds @ $94.35 per cwt,
to cost right at $550 per head. They came from a reputation herd, and the heifers hadn't been topped. Hopefully they will
turn into some nice cows.

I had a laugh at your crew. Did Kosmo ride his motordog bringing in the cows? The handlebars look a little low?

How old is Yellowstone ? In your country how long can a ranch horse hold up ? I've got a 16 yr. old quarter horse gelding and I am wondering which one of us is going to give out first. So far he seems to have the edge.

Yellowstone will be fifteen years old this spring. He is half Quarter Horse and half Tennessee Walker. He is extremely tough, fairly cowy and agile for as big as he is, and has never been lame a day in his life. I bought him as a yearling from Pete Bertolino of Red Lodge, Montana. At the time I also bought three of Yellowstone's full brothers, but Yellowstone is the only one left on our ranch. No two of the four brothers looked enough alike to even make a driving team. A palomino who will be eighteen years old this spring is still used by Vern Landreth every Wednesday at the Sheridan Livestock Auction, Rushville, Nebraska.

My old grey Tom Cat horse will turn 29 years old this spring. He is still going strong as a kid horse for the people who I sold him to about six years ago.
