Most live cattle and feeder cattle futures contracts closed the day up after news of R-CALF’s restraining order being granted was announced. The ruling was made public about 15 minutes prior to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed business for the day. On the live cattle side, April closed the day 30 points higher, at $86.80; June closed at $82.92, up 30 points; and August gained 15 points, closing at $79.95. The first three listed feeder cattle contracts all closed up 35 points. March settled at $100.32, April $99.22, and May at $98.32.
