The men and women in various branches of the military who I have met over the years were professionals and exemplary leaders. They do their job and keep their private lives private as everyone else should. There have been more egregious issues with male heterosexual harassment of women in the military than anything I am aware of regarding gays in the military.
I did think it interesting that Gates who stayed on from the previous administration is moving this forward in line with the changed policy. I doubt that the leaders ever cared, it was all about policy and getting re-elected, not about people who wanted to serve their country and were doing a good job.
This was not a GOP deal, the Dems under Clinton were equally political and dense.

I am calling you out for getting so hate filled and attacking people. You are coming across as a selfrighous elitist who is looking down your nose and dismissing those beneath you.
You say your in a very military area ok then tell us all about the upcoming "mission" that is going to take place the beginning of Aug -beginning of Oct. This involves stateside based troops. Or have you not heard about this? No I found out from the mother of a solider and another father from their soliders.
