In case you missed his testimony today. Pay attention now as to how many Iraqi military units are ready to step up and take on protection of their country. Excerpts; link below; my emphasis.
"The top US commander in Iraq disclosed that only a single Iraqi battalion is capable of independent operations and acknowledged conditions may worsen there even if a constitution is approved. "
""As we've looked at this, we've looked for the constitution to be a national compact. The perception now is that it's not," he said."
"Casey said the US Defense Department is replacing the State Department in advising the Iraqi Defense and Interior Ministries, amid concerns about their competence and allegations of corruption. "
---By the way, a few months ago he said three (3) units were capable of independent operations. Doesn't sound like progress to me.---
