You're a funny man, BMR. We don't have much, if any, new snow, but the wind is blowing really hard!

Is your power back on? We are still living off a generator.

Stay safe...

Cheers---

TTB

Yep 48 hours now. I was visiting with a friend from Assinaboia 90 miles away and they are now out of power. The town folk aren't quite as prepared as we are. :)

Thats exactly how my trip over to feed the neighbors cows looked this morning... Only time you knew you were in a really big drift was when the snow was flying over the top of the feed truck...
Weather boys came on the radio and said we "officially" have blizzard conditions...They didn't need to tell me that..

What's miserable? The weather or YOU. :p

The hydro has been out going on 3 days. Now the phone is out. Good thing we have a generator and lots of fuel.
Looks like the snow has quit, the moon is out now if the wind would go down it would sure help the situation. :?

Well they are still howling here. I carried a couple more jugs of fuel to the tractor this morning, stoked the fire at my daughters house and now should go see if I can feed and hay with out it blowing away. :x

Not sure I'd be feeding with your processor today BMR. Wind is still blowing here but it quit snowing last night at seven or so. -10C this morning.

During the night I heard the strangest sound that woke me up...Soon reallized it was the sound of quiet- and no howling wind... :)

Started in about 6AM cleaning out our road- and the yard and stackyards...Fed the cows and then plowed a trail down the county road to the neighbors place (that was socked in even worse)...Plowed out their yard- and got some access to some bales opened up- and a trail to their cows...Moved as much as we could with the loader- but when he gets back he's going to need to fire up his Cat to get every thing widened out more before the next blow- and plow the 1/4 mile to his main stack...

Temps a little cooler- 8 Above- but just seeing sunshine after a week of fog and blizzard warms you up pretty well...

Listening to the local Tradio call in radio program- I couldn't believe the number of folks calling in looking to buy loader tractors, blades, or tractor chains...

Both the phone and electricity are out at the north place again...

were still on the generator and the phone is out. Sounds like a large area still out of power.Coronach, Rockglen and others.

I got the 7420 and processor stuck this morning and had to unhook the generator tractor to dig and pull out backwards. I under estimated the depth of the drift.

BMR, I've never been around a bale processor, but to me they look like they could be a real boat anchor in snow or muddy conditions. Neighbor has one, not sure if it's a Haybuster or a Vermeer (same color and I forget!) He pulls it with a 2wd 4040 which looks like probably the bare minimum tractor in good conditons. I can't imagine when the snow gets deep. :???:

We are real icy underneath I imagine just like you guys right now. The snow was a little deeper then i figured and I was headed down hill so backing up was a problem. I get through lots with the processor but at times it needs to be unhooked.

County never did get our road plowed out- or several other bus routes...They must have all their guys trying to plow out areas that are without power- which definitely is a priority...
Well anyway- between my son- and the neighbors down the road- they've plowed out one lane thru all the bad drifts to town for now-- and my flag is hanging straight down for the first time in days... :)

My son had to be in Miles City tomorrow morning- but when he left this afternoon they still showed the Jordan part of 200 closed...He called me from Flowing Wells- and I checked and found they had got it open- so he went that way...Said no one was going to be using the Rest Rooms at the Flowing Wells Rest Area- as the drifts in front of the door were as high as the building...

Temp is dropping tho- down to 0....

Well we have phones again but I called the "Outage" line and about a 60 miles radius to the west and north sound like they are still out of power and no estimate given on when we can expect the power to come on.
Sure glad we got a generator or it would have been a mess. :?
