After fighting mud and cold for several years I kept the bull up till 20th of June last year so calves should start the 29th - - - a first calf heifer had a nice calf today and I have a few more looking close.
When you only have 18 each one is special!
But when you move almost 100 pups in a year they start blending in my mind - - - and I normally have them all reserved and picked up when they are 8 weeks old. A good pup will bring more money than a good grade weaned calf even if I precondition and hold them a month after working. Guess which one adds the most to the bottom line!
