I could go on for hours and hours about weird "ghost-type" happenings that have happened in our old hospital, but that would take forever!! I did have ONE instance back in 1989 that still sticks with me!!
My mom said that one "old soul" just followed from one generation to the next on her side of the family....she said his name was Opus and he was from the time of the Revolutionary war.....said she had even seen him a time or two....of course, growing up and being the "smarter than you teenager", I had my doubts!!! Til that night in July of '89!!!
I was married to an angry, bitter and often violent man who thought that MY purpose in life was to be his personal punching bag!! We had dinner at my folks' house this one fateful night and he had too much to drink and chose to pick a fight with me in the kitchen!! I could see that my dad was about to take things into his own hands (literally) when "Opus" decided to make himself known!!! As my (then) spouse proceded to scream in my face and threaten me with his balled up right fist, I looked over at the nearby countertop and watched as a frozen loaf of wheat bread LEVITATE!!!! NO KIDDING!! Then, as I stood there in shock, this loaf of bread "launched" itself at my 'attacker's head, giving him a good crack in the nogging!!!! He FREAKED !!!!!!!!!! My mom came into the kitchen at that time and saw the loaf of bread on the floor at his feet and just started to laugh....she said "now maybe you will have a little respect for my daughter since you know now that she will never really be alone and defenseless!!!" From that day forward, the only fights he would pick would be at HIS folks' or at our own place....and he always looked over his shoulder for flying food!!!

I have never had the pleasure of meeting our ghost, but several hired men have. Sam Hudson the founder of the ranch has been seen and heard around the bunkhouse. Funny and strange things would occur, that we had theories about, but really no concrete evidence, until one hired man that was staying in his bunkhouse by himself one nite and appartently Sam had come to visit him...the hired man left in such a hurry that he didn't take half his stuff...when the next morning rolled around and he was missing we got worried...so did some checking and finally found him in town at a motel....he said he would never come back and that we could just bring the rest of his stuff to town and his check...He said that Sam came into the bunkhouse and sat in the chair... :? I'd love to meet ole Sam sometime, and everyonce in awhile an odd thing happens and we all just laugh and say "Sam's back for a visit"....He was a nice ole man, and so I wouldn't be scared of him...Maybe someday!

I have a great fascination for such things, but can't say as I've ever had any experiences with ghosts. Don't let that stop you from telling your stories, though, cause I'm listening! :D

I have had a couple of encounters, or sightings, with unexplainable stuff......

Once, I was standing at the sink, doing dishes, waiting for Al to get home from school (he was in K that year). Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of something, so went over to the window to see what it was. There, in the field across the road from the house, were two people, a man and a woman, walking around, just wandering more than actually going somewhere. The woman was dressed in a long dress, blue in color, and a black bonnet........the man had on a flat-topped hat and a vest over his shirt. They just kinda vanished into thin air, while I stood there watching, and wondering what I should do.......

When Hubby got home that night, I told him what I'd seen, and he laughed, and said that his great-grandparents, who settled here back in the 1880s, must have been back to check on things.......apparently, I wasn't the first to see them out there. So far as I know, though, no one else has seen them since.....
