Giant Earthworm

I was amazed when I saw this worm that died escaping the over watered (due to rains) alfalfa field. It avoided the birds and any vehicles, but for some reason died. I wear a women's size 10B shoe.

The birds that sit on the wheel line watching for them are crows and ravens. Some of the ravens are huge.

That is what I thought, but getting closer I feared it was a baby bull snake, but on very close exam, it is an earthworm. There were several hundred more earthworms of smaller size. Also notice the earthworm tracks.
