The left doesn't get it just like the right doesn't get it. When the woman with the worlds most irritating voice was posting pictures with targets over her opponents that was okay by the right. Both sides are a long way from getting it it appears.

Wasn't the left posting targets. Oh how the left forgets

Oh the right get's it. We get it that the left is loaded with Hypocrites

And you are a hypocrite

The targets you talk of were targets of the districts that the reps wanted to win. Not a target on an individual person. But you get an A for effort in distorting the facts

Don't call me left. I'm not left. I am not a hypocrite, I remember the uproar over her targets. If I am mistaken by what was exactly behind the target I apologize, but the point is the same.
It's folks like you who are the problem with your country these days, everything in your feeble little minds is black and white, your party has all the answers and the other can do or say nothing right. You have your heads so far up your arses there's no chance you'll ever see daylight again.
My point, you hypocrite, is that BOTH parties are hypocrites, and both need to do some growing up (like yourself).
You don't have to agree with that, I don't expect you too.... you're kind generally aren't very good at objectivity.

With respect,

There are times in life when you have to become an adult and make tough decisions. There are situations that do have a right and wrong answer. The answer may not be easy to hear, or follow through on, but it may still be the right answer.

The polarization of America is not what is wrong with it, but what is right. Many are seeing what the end result of socialization is for the first time. The majority of American's that are standing up and saying that we have gotten on the wrong track, and we are taking the train back over. Some things are worth standing up and fighting for.

The country was founded on principles and God given rights, that will be defended by me until I die. If you don't feel the same passion about your situation, then maybe you don't have the same treasures I do that are under attack and worth defending.

You are correct in that politicians do make mistakes on all sides of the isle. But it is not the individual politician's righteousness that is of dispute, but the issue of Freedom. Taxation, Regulation, Government obtrusiveness are being abused and used as attacks and there is no middle ground on giving up Freedom. You mentioned two parties being wrong, and you are correct. It is because neither party fully supported the People's best interest as a whole (not special interests or limitation of government), the Tea Party has been formed.

I can tell you that I am very objective. I grew up in a household that supported a fair amount of democratic fiscal policies and the "supposed" support for the little man that was touted by the media.

I had previously learned the error of my ways, but it was this current administration that is polarizing the nation, that caused several of my family members (life long democratic tendencies due to "support" of education) to suddenly stop cold turkey. They are now Tea Party supporters, thanks again to Obama. Notice, I didn't say Republicans.

When faced with facts- you have to make a decision.

Hog wash, what is wrong with this country is people who come on here with facts that are made up to portray your agenda. And to completely distort the target issue is a tactic of the left and is inexcusable. That my friend is what is wrong with the country, to lie to misrepresent a stance. No matter who does it, but you did it this time. Shame on you.

Brent Bozell: Media Overlook Violent Talk on the Left
Wednesday, September 07, 2011
By L. Brent Bozell III
After the mass shooting in Tucson of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a federal judge, and other bystanders, President Obama gave one of those unite-the-divide speeches that give journalists leg thrills. We need to “sharpen our instincts for empathy,” he said.

He lamented political finger-pointing: “It's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.” The initial speculation was that conservatives were responsible for the Tucson horror. Even after this proved to be false, the attacks were relentless, with a barrage of media reports on the alleged excesses and mean-spiritedness of the Tea Party and all things right of center.

On Labor Day, Teamsters president James Hoffa was in Detroit addressing a rally starring the president. Hoffa told Obama there was a “war on workers,” and the unions were Obama’s “army.” He said: “We are ready to march. Let’s take these sons of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.” Obama then showed up and said that voters would be looking for “straight shooters.” The rhetoric was just fine by him.

The same media that mercilessly attacked conservatives after the Giffords shooting couldn’t ignore this, you say? True, the venue was too high-profile: a union leader at an Obama rally on Labor Day. While ABC, CBS, and NBC were compelled to notice, there was virtually no outrage. Indeed, The Washington Post and The New York Times skipped right over it.

So much for “all the news that’s fit to print.”

Were a conservative – Perry? Palin? Bachmann? – to talk in martial terms about “taking out” the opponent, immediately the media headlines would scream “Conservatives Threaten President.” Minutes later, there would be calls on the Justice Department to investigate this physical threat.

But leftists can use these terms at will. A month ago, Politico reported on an anonymous Democratic strategist with White House ties declaring “Unless things change and Obama can run on accomplishments, he will have to kill Romney.” ABC, CBS, and NBC skipped that one. The Post and the Times stepped over it, too.

On August 22, at a Congressional Black Caucus event in Miami, Congressman Andre Carson, Democrat from Indianapolis, said “Some of these folks in Congress right now would love to see us as second-class citizens...Some of them in Congress right now of this Tea Party would love to see you and me...hanging on a tree.”

Carson clearly didn’t think about talking “in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.” But ABC, CBS, and NBC all skipped that one, too, as did the Post. The New York Times ran a brief item on how Rep. Allen West was thinking about quitting the Black Caucus over Carson’s remarks.

NPR noticed this tape on August 24 and played it on the afternoon show “Talk of the Nation.” Political director Ken Rudin said “Listeners should know that we talked about whether to air this tape or not. But if a Republican had said something like this, you know, something outrageous like this, we would of course say it, use it, because it just shows the extremes that people have gone to.”

Good for Rudin. But he was the exception. Most media outlets ignored these extreme comments without blinking, or had a discussion that ended with the order “Spike it.”

Normally, an expose of alleged conservative rhetorical excess is followed by the pressure to apologize. In Hoffa’s case, however, there’s been none. Not only that, but when asked, Democratic Party chairman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz flat-out rejected the notion. “I know you'd like to focus on language, that's not what the American people are focused on,” she told Fox News.

This is especially rich, since Wasserman-Schultz is a close friend of Giffords and made the rounds of TV interviews in January to discuss the dangerous talk in (conservative) politics. She told Katie Couric on CBS the first thing her daughter asked her was “Mommy, are you going to get shot?” She claimed her little girl worried that “Mommy, Florida's going to pass an immigration law like Arizona and then people are going to be mad at you.' You know, they're paying attention. The civil discourse is very important because it's not just – it's not just adults that – that this permeates. It's our children.”

If the networks had any interest in fairness or balance, they’d be asking the DNC chair to denounce the harsh language. So what’s worse, the hypocrisy of Obama & Co.? Or the aid and comfort provided by the “news” media when they ignore that hypocrisy?

Silver why were the targets over a candidates riding not a problem, let's say before a Conservative female candidate used them?

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/01/11/democratic_strategist_beckel_stop_politicizing_giffords_shooting.html

Targeting a candidate for defeat is part of election history so to claim one certain person that you don't like is more to blame than the decades that came before her is just plain stupid.

BTW I doubt anyone would have said anything about Hoffa's statement if it wasn't for the fact he was speaking at a meeting where Obama was to speak. Obama made the heated rhedoric a huge issue when he told people to cool it after the AZ. shootings and his left base totally ignored him and kicked it up a notch. If Obama had just once told his party to knock it off, he could take a high road on the issue but he has continuely ignored statement like Hoffa's and allowed the nasty comments to go on unchecked. Biden himself called the Republicans names and Obama has not even stopped him. HYPOCRITE is the only way to explain his actions or lack of actions when it comes to his party.

intellectually dishonest
lazy about the facts
liar
or drank too much liberal koolaid

As compared to the target that silver implied was a target on the actual person. He failed to acknowledge the district office was the objective

The POINT (besides the one on the top of your head) is that it is WRONG for ALL concerned. WRONG WRONG WRONG, regardless of your political stripe or persuasion. Why are so many of you so afraid to criticize your party of choice? Many of you obviously have some sort of left wing agenda you're trying to push by playing some sort of head games, but you wont convince to switch my vote to the left. I'm beginning to think there's a lot of closet liberals in here

Now do you feel better with your "point" comment. If it would make you feel better to call me some more names, have at it.

This post was about Hoffa and obama. First you didn't condemn Hoffa, you condemned Palin. Your response was that Palin posted a target on Gifford is way out of line. She did not target Gifford, she pointed out that numerous Congress seats were important and those need a Conservative to fill them.

To imply she had a target on Giffords is just sloppy, lazy factually incorect and you repeated it like the left wing did. Yet you condemned Palin and were silent for Hoffa and obamas antagonistic remarks.

If this was a post aqbout a conservative making a wild remark and I was involved in the discussion I would have condemn the so called conservative.

Now run and try and find where a kook made some remark and called himself a conservative. Then you can try and get me to condemn the guy.
Well I'll tell you what don't waste your time. I won't get involved in your little childish tit for tat games.

Well Larrrrrrrrrry, I'll try to slow this down a bit for you because you're obviously not keeping up. Please show me where I mentioned Gabby Gifford in a previous post. I mentioned Palins targets, and should have referred to her "don't retreat, reload" statement. Tell me if that type of rhetoric is right or wrong.
Also, if you were paying attention, you may have noted in another thread I posted what I thought of Hoffa's rant, and Obama's response (or lack thereof). So to say I was silent on that aspect is a lie. Does that make you a liar, or just uninformed?

It's not about keeping up I passed you up long ago so start looking ahead instead of backwards like all good libs do.

You did mention the targets and you did imply an attack on the person. If you look at the context of her whole statment of reloading she stated the targets were NOT a call for violence. But you failed to mention that like all good libs do. Shame on You

As far as other threads it is not my job to search out all other threads to see what someone say. To think I should is pure stupidity on your part. Shame on you. The fact is you did not utter any condemnation of Hoffa or obama on this thread but you chose to pick someone not in this thread and attack them like all good libs do. Shame on You.

this argument reminds me of the there are no little sins or big sins.. a sin is a sin..

but in reality it often isn't perceived that way.. some things are wrong.. and some things are downright wrong.. and then there is wrongs that are much worse..

when a person does something we think is wrong it might be bad enough we just shake our head in disagreement and continue on our way.

like when a kid parks his car in two spots..

then there is a wrong we say something.. like when the same kid mouths off to the store clerk..

I could go all the way through the list..

but none of those wrongs would equal if the kid shot up the place, and then drove off ..

what Palin did was enough to get a person to shake their head.. maybe even say something..

while I wouldn't lock them up and throw away the key.. where some on the left is heading is past being wrong enough to say something.. and I feel fine with boycotting the business it does business with..

and later I will post a list of them..

typical left, they can't condemn one of their own without falling to the old left tactic...everyone does it.

No not everyone does it. You and your ilk are just defining the standards down. Too bad the left gets their jollies at running this country down the tubes with their lowering of standards..

You just couldn't condemn Hoffa and obama you had to go on a childish attack.....Just what I expected from the left

You brought up Palin's targets on a map so I ask you why do you think we should criticize her for that since it was a DEMOCRAT that invented it? Should we not blame those that started the practice DECADES AGO?

This thread was about HOFFA, an Obama's supporter, ignoring Obama's request for civility. You bringing Palin into the thread is an attempt to distract the topic off the fact Obama is turning a blind eye to his supporters behavior. The main problem is Obama can't expect his supporters to stop when he is leading them with heated rhedoric like this.

"If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun," Obama said at a Philadelphia fundraiser Friday night. "Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I've seen Eagles fans."

GREAT EXAMPLE of civility from a guy requesting it isn't it SILVER?
