In a couple thread lately the discussion of Global Warming has came up. Got me curious what every-ones feelings are and what knowledge do they have on the subject?

This is a subject I have seen cross over many times between Conservatives and Liberals. It is not as clear cut as say Abortion or Gun control.

So were do you stand on it? Is it real? Not Real? Have no idea?

I am not by any means an expert on the subject nor do I claim to be. The following is my person opinion there are no facts other than personal research I have done on the subject.

I believe that global warming is indeed occuring. That said there are cycles that this planet has seen time and time again. This is one of those times. Could humans have sped the cycle up? Highly probable. Is nature taking its course? More than likely. Look back years ago you will indeed find evidence of global warming. Earth has seen this cycle many times before. Also due for a good pandemic any day now. When over population occurs Mother Nature will take care of things. And she can be a nasty momma.

The preceeding was just one human's uneducated opinion .........

i beleive i is happening, hopwever i do not believe it is totally caused by man alone, i think some of it is man made but i really believe it is more mother nature taking her course than anything else.
i however do not have a friend of a friend that has a brother in law whos step fathers ex girlfriends uncle who has 14 degrees in the field to back my claim as is the case with one poster! :D
nor do i have a ton of degrees to support my thoughts so i must be wrong!
imho a degree in anything is not really a meaningful critiera to being RIGHT!
it is only therory that people who supposedly study these things offer, no real proof!

This world will be here as long as God wants it to be here.

2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.
2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

He made the world, he keeps the world, I would imagine he can control the thermostat.

As everything on this earth, adapation is the key to survival....A bigger problem facing the earth is the cooling of its core,as it is starting to be noticed by less volcanic activity....once the core cools its becomes solid no longer viscus...The earth then would be what is called a dead planet....The earth is bigger then all of us,it will take care of itsself till it, like us,dies from the inside out......

and will probably take another 4-5 billion years to loose all its heat -and become a dead planet. Just think, no earthquakes, no volcanos, no tidal waves - the earth will sink into a deep, cold sleep - except for the fact that by that time the sun will expand into its red giant phase and burn the earth to a crisp before that final heat death comes.

I sure hate those slow lingering "billion years to die" situations....

the core is cooling....the crust is warming....the sun is going giant red....in the next billion years,....and no one really gives a crap......why?....not enough media hype?....or the media is focused on something that really matters?

The first thing a person has to ask themselves when talking about Global Warming is do they believe in the bible or not?

If they believe in the bible then they know that nothing will ever destroy the earth, that mankind can not and will not every destroy it. God says it is here forever and if you read in Psalms he says The meek will inherit the earth and live on it forever.

Now I realize that does not mean we should be littering and disrespecting his creation. I even believe there should be some laws in regards pollution and such. But we can not get caught up in believing that man can destroy this great creation.

Now if you are an atheist and do not believe in God nor the Bible, then you have a whole bunch other more serious issues than to worry about Global Warming

We were watching a show the other night, history channel I think, and it was late. I should have been sleeeping but I watched the first segment basically being about what would happen if a sun in this galaxy went supernova or something and how there would be so much UV light it would burn off the ozone, kill all life on earth except some bacteria probably, within a matter of days... I turned to me wife and said "That would suck" and promptly thought to myself that I really didn't need to see that show. Than they had Stephen Hawkin come out and say that the chance is this happening anytime in the near future is next to none.. Well, I guess I will take his word for it but between the asteroids, supernovas, supervolcano's, new Madrid fault line and global warming I have decided that I needed to be born in 1875 instead of 1975 so I could have died before hearing all of this stuff on the history Channel.

Oh well, I will get over it.

I'm a whole lot more worried about the radical Islamists and all the candy-asses that are working hard to make sure that we don't defeat them.
