So a European tourist was travelling all across North America and every major city he saw in the good old U.S.A. had a Golden Phone in the public square. Next to the phone was a sign that read, "Direct line to Heaven: $10,000 per call."
After seeing all the sights in the U.S., he crossed the 49th and sure enough, in each major Canadian city he saw the same golden phones. Only difference was the cost of the call. The signs all read, "Direct line to Heaven: 40 cents per call."
He was baffled by this so finally his curiosty got the best of him and he asked someone the reason for this huge difference.
"Easy 'nuf to answer", said the friendly Canuck. "It isn't long distance".
