Good BullRiding

We had a PBR Canada event here last night-only had six qualified rides in the long go and the bulls shutout the cowboys in the short go. They had a calcutta before the short go and unbeknowest to me Ty was bidding on the pen of bulls-he'd of won $3200 bucks if he'd of kept going but probably best he didn't. There was a young guy riding from Molt, Montana-Nathan Hofer-looks like he's pretty handy-maybe not quite handy enough for our Canadian bulls lol. We get to take our young fellers to town on Saturday for the Jr. guys I hope they can fling a few off at least.

Hey NR,

Those Canadian bred bulls are sure good arent they!! Them American riders and Brazillians become yard darts when they get on them......!!  Bulls involoved with the PBR are selling for big $$$ in the US but I think theres better bulls up here that are putting out and if the border ever opened up to them some breeders up here might be collecting some big $$.

Hey Buckerette go look at those four yearling heifers selling on Breeder's Connection this week-some sweet looking critters. Did you ever get your horse sold you had last fall. Put some pics up of your rough stock you've got some nice looking cattle too.

A young high school kid that I've been helping with his bareback and bronc riding had quite a week- not only did he qualify for State, but he got to host Brad Gjermundson for an overnite guest...Apparently Brad was on his way to Canada-but got to the port after it closed...Since Chase and his folks live 5 miles from the border he spent the night before going north...Not so sure if Chase was more thrilled or his momma who it sounds like is still walking around on cloud nine

Pretty nice looking heifers on there. I love the name Paying With Hooters..... that's just too much :)

I did finally get my horse sold, good thing too with the cost of hay what it is.

I'm going to have a heifer on www.thebuckingstockconnection.com on July 3rd. You'll have to check her out and tell me what you think. I hate to sale her but had more heifers out of Catfish this year then I was expecting. Since I don't want any Catfish blood out there until I have a chance to prove him as a producer, I had to sale.

I'm updating the website soon. I'll let you know when it's done.

WAIT.... I went back and looked at the heifers again. If the sire is Paying with hooters I like the name.... if it's Playing with hooters (like it says on the pedigree).... I don't really like the name........ :???: :?

The quality of bucking bulls has increased everywhere the last several years. I think its because producers are actually breeding buckers instead of bucking a load of swampers and keeping the snuffy ones.

Jimmy Carouthers seems to have a string of ringy small bulls that are dusting about everyone. The problem is most spectators don't think they saw a hard to cover bull unless he's 2400# and jumps high.

Well if you play with hooters you usually end up paying lol. Buckerette put a pic of your heifer up here-so I can have a look at her before you put her up for sale. We just practiced here before this morning before the boys ride tonight-then went and found a nice new 'Prankster' heifer out of one of my Quam cows. Buckerette there's a couple Canadian bulls up here that you should gather some semen on before the border opens back up-there were 3 or 4 out last night that are easy PBR short round bulls.

Here's Ty tonight at our local rodeo on one of our young bulls-kind of mixed emotions his bull bucked him off at six seconds lol. I took a couple easy ones in for the young guys and one won the rodeo -had a bit too much juice for the older boys. Made a deal to lease two time CCA bull of the year-they retired after the PBR deal Tuesday-he never even got warmed up. The boys were practticing this A'M and a local bull rider came out and one of our practice cows busted his arm-I guess she bucks hard enough.

NR - I love when the cows buck the guys off! Glad to hear they won it on one of yours.

You're right we should get some Canada semen bought up. Tell me what you see and recommend. I was meaning to buy up Panhandle Slim straws when they were $300/. Kept putting it off...then he died.... now you can't touch it under 2000/..... really taught me a lesson on procastination.

Manitoba: I saw that too, but when you open up the pedigree link it says Playing With Hooter. They are Playboy/Hooter cross so that's probably it.

She's out of a daughter of Shake Rattle N Roll (a wolfman son) and a Achey Breaky cow. Her sire is a bull that Darin Jewell bred.
