Good news, crack prison terms will be shortened.

Instead of going with the higher sentence, they'll go with the lower.

"The administration believes Congress' goal should be to completely eliminate the disparity in prison sentences between crack cocaine and powdered cocaine," Breuer said in written testimony to be delivered Wednesday.

Federal law now has what lawyers call a "100-to-1" ratio for cocaine sentences, in which a person selling five grams of crack faces the same five-year mandatory minimum sentence as someone selling 500 grams of powder cocaine.

Critics of the law say it unfairly punishes black offenders, pointing to statistics showing 82 percent of federal crack cocaine convicts were black, while nine percent were white.

Selling crack cocaine should be dealt with more serious than regular powdered coke. It's much more habit forming and dangerous to the user.

There have been instances where undercover agents smoked crack one time and were hooked. Not so with generic coke.

They want to lower sentences just because most crack dealers are black.

This is reverse discrimination anyway you look at it.

Speaking of reverse discrimination, its going to be interesting to see how the Supreme Court rules on the reverse discrimination suit of the firefighters not getting promoted. I forget where they were from.

I am not sure if any one actually knows what a crack addict is... but I have never seen a "recovering /recovered' crack addict...

A better solution would be to put them in a room with as much crack as they want every day until they have had enough..
