The grandsons were out the other day. We did some hunting, work and just foolin around. They took home a whole raft of treasures with them. The busted off end of a hotshot, a couple of feathers, some spent casings, some spent shotgun shells. I had taken an old 1 x 4 and a piece of ½ pipe and made them “rifles” which they pack with them everywhere. I have given them old hats which have little use left in them –trust me. Those boys treasure those old dirty, holey hats like a new 10x Stetson. They have carted off old antelope and rabbit skulls that are priceless in their eyes. We smile as we look at the “treasures” of a young boy. I wonder what the Lord’s reaction is to your treasures and my “valuables”. Does He smile? Is He sad? I do know He has told us to “lay up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy”. I would encourage you to just give a little thought to the things you truly treasure. Share them with us, if you are so inclined. Well have yourselves a good Sunday morning and a good rest of the week.
