Good Sunday Mornin"

Did you ever feel like someone perhaps held you in disdain because you were some ol’ farmer and not quite as sophisticated as they? Or perhaps some “city slicker” has moved onto your turf, and you are not sure you want him there. That has always been part of the human race. James warned us against practicing partiality (James 2:1-9). Barnabas encouraged them all even though they were not of his own race or culture (Acts 11:20-26 and 12:25). His purpose was to encourage all to follow God. What are the characteristics of an encourager to add to our list this week? Barnabas encouraged them all without partiality to follow God. Barnabas was a man of purpose who fulfilled his mission. Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin’ and a good rest of the week too.

Thanks for your encouragement, Shortgrass. It is minus four here this morning with a little fresh snow on the ground, and calving is just around the corner. :? Any encouragement will plumb come in handy. :)

Shortgrass, thank you for encouraging all of us here every week! If I only log on to ranchers.net once a week it is to find the encouragement of your Sunday message!

Today's scripture readings at church bring encouragement as we start our 40 days of preparation for Easter. In Genesis 2:7-9;3:1-7 God created Adam and Eve and everything was going smoothly in Eden until Eve let that serpent trick her and Adam into eating the forbidden fruit. In Romans 5:12-19 Paul explains how sin and death came into the world through one man, Adam. Redemption and eternal life come only through the one Jesus Christ.

Our deacon read the Gospel from Matthew 4:1-11 last night. I liked the sermon where he compared this Jesus vs Satan encounter in the desert to round one of a prize fight which ends in Jesus ultimate victory on Easter morning. Jesus soundly rejected each and every one of Satan's temptations. Satan had done his best to tempt Jesus to sin and failed.

Jesus is the ultimate encouragement to us. Like Paul and Barnabas, we must follow His lead and encourage each other. Although we are weak and allow Satan to tempt us to do wrong, Jesus is always there to make it right again. All we have to do is put our faith and trust in Him.

I wish a good Sunday and rest of the week to all! And if anyone has some of that global warming to spare, sure could use that around here the last couple days!

Soap, during winter my digital remote thermometer always reads warmer than my neighbor who has an old fashioned mercury thermometer. It's only -0.4 here now. But if I called my neighbor he would probably say it was -10! In my case, ignorance is bliss!

Good luck with the calving. Days like today make me appreciate that I'm not supposed to start calving for over 2 months yet!

Good Morning,

It is encouraging to know that in God's eyes we are all the same. Whether you are rich or poor, we all need the saving grace of Jesus Christ. And as we encourage others in our daily lives, we need to lead by example and not be stumbling blocks for others.

The temperature is -8 this morning and that makes 70 straight days of at least -5, brrr. Start calving March 1st, so I hope most of the cold is behind us.

Best to you and yours.
