Future Farmers of America don't just happen.
This is what Grandpa looks like when he is enjoying Grandson and what Grandson looks like enjoying Grandpa! Grandchildren are such a pleasure, and I sure believe that they ought to enjoy prividleges with grandparents that Dad & Mom may not allow (without undermining parental values), but I do not go along with the "spoil the heck out of 'em and send 'em home" philosophy. Grandparents have a tremondous responsibility toward their children's children. The first line of responsibility is to show them what faith in God looks like. The scripture says, of the precepts of God, to "teach them to your children AND your children's children." I recall how my grandma always told of her life on the homestead, and without fail we would hear her say "I don't know how we would have made it but for the Lord." I began to realize that faith in God was more than Sunday rhetoric; it was a way of life. Now it is me passing the torch to my grandchildren. What a joy to carry out this instruction. Well, have yourselves a good Sunday Mornin' and a great rest of the week.
