Maybe....get the cow in before she calves and let HER pack it to the barn. :?

Very true.
We used horses so getting the cow in before she calved, for us, seemed to be easier.
Each outfit is different, for sure. It was embarrassing when someone that helped us taught us to get the
cow in before she calved because we hadn't done it that way. Actually in SW Montana we hadn't shed calved, so
it was new to us.
We did use a sled too, as needed, but then we started calving later and that helped the most.

there wasn't even an ice fishing sled at Running's in Belle , Saturday
