Friend of mine called yesterday just as I had walked in from the garden. And of course...I had picked more squash. Got it comin out my ears. She hasn't gotten any yet from her garden....and asked if I wanted to trade squash for peaches.

PEACHES!!!! Those are like GOLD around here...Heck yeah I'll trade. So off I went with my lil bucket full of squash....and my peach pickin britches on. Spent an enjoyable hour or so visitin and pickin....then we walked out to the pasture to look at her two new filly's that were born this spring.

I made a goooooood trade!!!!

Ain't they perdy???

That is soooooo UNFAIR!!!!!!
You keep posting all these pictures of gardens, and food and
here we are--the trees are just now getting leaves on them.

Yes, those peaches are gorgeous!
Most of our peaches here are shipped in from Washington,
but they don't hold a candle to the peaches from Missouri
and I suspect, Texas. Those, the juice runs down your arm
and drips off your elbow. YUMMMMMMM

Squash for peaches....geeez Jersey that is a good trade! Round here all you get from giving squash is a scowl! Usually if you park someplace to long when you go to leave there is a bushel or two of squash in the back of yur pick up. Mine is about 5 inches long.....how long do you let them get before you pick them to where they are the tastiest?

I try ro pick them at about 6 or so inches. I dont like big seeds and they are real tender at that size.

Do you have any tasty squash recipe's your willing to part with?   :?:
