Gore wealth

Did anyone hear a discussion group on TV the past ten days or so where someone stated, admiringly, that Gore well may be a serious contender for the presidency in '08?

The premise was that he has the money to fund his own campaign if he so chooses, and he well may, as he won the popular vote in 2000.

The person, I believe a media top-dog, said Gore has made more than $500,000,000.00 on Google stock.

It was not stated disparagingly in any way, but as serious and reasonable comment re. his means to try again.

Unfortunately, I was in and out of the room and not able to see who was talking, or get the name of the show before it was turned off, so blast away, libs, but that certainly is the essence of what was said and I'd sure like to know more about it.

Maybe this is what you read......
Al Gore has such a fortune in Google stock that he could easily fund his own campaign for the White House, Democratic insiders say.

Gore became a senior adviser to the Internet search engine back in February 2001, and is a close friend of CEO Dr. Eric Schmidt. Google shares went public in 2004, and the stock has soared from $85 a share to more than $400. Co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page are worth an estimated $11 billion each.

Gore "owns a ton of Google and he's made enough money that he could wait until a month before and just drop $50 million in to launch a [2008] race," a well-placed Democrat told Deborah Orin of the New York Post.

"He's got way more than enough money to buy this thing at any point in the process."

I hope All the rich democrats candidates jump into the race,.....a money-laden primaries is great for the economy...and the more they spend on capitalist ads...the less they have to fund their socialist agenda.,...

.imagine the look on Hillery's face....No don't....just the regular look is not worth imagining...

Nothing better then watching your opponents slug it out amongst themselves..

Sounds very much like it, but I heard it rather than read it, while 'producing' Christmas for my family, and wasn't in the room all the time so missed quite a bit of the talk.

Anyway, not sure whether I more fear a Gore, or a McCain presidency.
