Mr. FH grandfather had a bay mare named Penny. She was a great outside horse, but when the grandsons decided to try a little team roping on her, she let them know really fast that she had no intentions of being
an arena horse!!!

That was years ago, but they still talk today about what a good one she was. And she was just a 'horse', not registered, but darn good.
 
In 1957 - 58 I cowboyed for Bruce Church Ranch in Yuma - we were breeding Brangus with herds of Reg. Angus and Reg. Brahma

We worked the Cattle anf Feed Lot from 1AM to 7AM because of the heat.

18 years old - cowboy AM's - Air Force Days - San Luis nights - paying for it now
 
Ha ha ha yeah things havent changed much down in that part of the country thats for sure . I dont lik ethat desert at all , i have worked it a bunch myself and i damn sure cant stand it , cactus , sand , heat , snakes and all that other good stuff , only thing down there thats worth it is the skinyareetas ha ha .
 
She is a one man horse tho thats for sure she dont like no one but me wont let no one else catch her shoe her or ride her so you couldnt ask for a better horse .

And THAT, my friends, may be why Penny is the "only woman cowpuncher trusts". LOL
