Gov't Gun Confiscation Has Begun

Buckwheat's wish is coming true in at least ONE state. How many others will follow his lead?

After tens of thousands of defiant gun owners in Connecticut chose not to register their semi-automatic rifles to comply with a hastily-passed gun control law, the state is now taking some action. Officials are reportedly notifying gun owners who submitted late applications that they have one last chance to get rid of their “illegal” weapons.

State officials did accept some gun registration applications that were submitted after the Jan. 4 deadline, however, not all late applications were accepted, the Journal Inquirer reports.

“But rather than turn that information over to prosecutors, state officials are giving the gun owners a chance to get rid of the weapons and magazines,” the report adds.

So gun owners who actually tried to register their guns and magazines, intentionally late or not, are now on the state’s radar for owning guns that became illegal overnight. Owning an unregistered semi-automatic rifle or high-capacity magazine that was legal prior to Jan. 3 is now a class D felony under the new law.

The Capitalism Institute claims to have obtained a copy of the notarized letters Connecticut officials are sending out to late registration applicants:

While we can’t confirm the authenticity of the letter above, the Journal Inquirer, which is a local paper covering North-Central Connecticut, reports the state does hold notarized letters for violators.

As TheBlaze reported earlier this month, as little 15 percent of the now-illegal semi-automatic rifles have actually been registered with the state of Connecticut.

“No one has anything close to definitive figures, but the most conservative estimates place the number of unregistered assault weapons well above 50,000, and perhaps as high as 350,000,” the Courant reported.

Republican state Sen. Tony Guglielmo recalled talking to a constituent who informed him that some gun owners are intentionally taking part in “civil disobedience” because they feel the law is unconstitutional.

.
It’s unclear if the state plans to start prosecuting gun owners who don’t dispose of their semi-automatic rifles or high-capacity magazines — or if they have a plan to check to see if the late applicants comply with the warning. It’s also uncertain if the state plans to go about identifying gun owners who didn’t try to register their guns at all.

Though it was too late to contact the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection on Wednesday, TheBlaze will reach out to the agency on Thursday.

Again, this viral photo of Connecticut gun owners waiting in line to register their guns in December, which one person said reminded them of the “Weimar Germany,” still seems relevant:

Lots of strong talk about the feds and how no one can take "my firearms" however it will continue to happen until someone actually stands up and says no.

If and when that day comes, you will see the full power of the Homeland Security arsenal engaged - they (Homeland Security) are fully expecting and I personally believe - in some cases - wanting this to happen.

Homeland Security has not purchased all those heavy weapons, armoured vehicles and precision munitions to store and count and look at - they bought them to use them. And they train to use them.

Homeland Security has not built all of those nice new housing units behind wires for THEIR use - it is where they will imprison any dissenters.

And this will all happen and be under the guise of security and protection of the US of A from home grown radical religious or radical political groups.

It is easy to use the media and it is even easier to fool the masses who - to use an example - allowed two people during a bombing of the marathon to essentially shut down the entire eastern seaboard and stay in their houses - cowering - while police ran amuck pretending to protect the public.

So much for the brave citizens of the US of A - in fact they were anything but during this incident.

During the war the Brits walked to work every day during the blitz. I honestly believe that with 100 good men I could shut down 50 major cities in the US of A for a week. The population is well and truly indoctrinated into believing the "authorities" are always right. What they tend to forget is those authorities are the servant of the public and the voter - NOT the other way around.

Look to the UK for increased foolishness - to the point an "offending tweet" can now get you arrested and jailed - as happened when two terrorists cut the head off a soldier in England. Tweeters were arrested for bad mouthing muslim terrorists.

I could go on and on - but slowly and surely the people are losing their way and those who stand up - those same people who were once the norm - are now considered the radical.

If you live in Connecticut.. and received a letter..

I would suggest you get rid of every weapon and ammunition you own asap..

the best option is to take them out of state for storage at a relative or friends..

the state will pick several owners and do swat style raids.. and make a huge deal out of the arsenal the person has..

and while the person battles the charges.. his life will be hell.. as they will try to get him arrested on any technicality .. while he waits for trial on the gun charges his life will be under a microscope..

so be warned..

if it was me.. I would get my house cleaned up.. and then send the the snottiest answer back I could come up with.. and call a high powered attorney while I waited for them to bust my door down..

I had a similar problem when I moved to NJ,.. no matter how I tried to comply,.. their only answer was that I had to turn in the gun..

After consulting with a lawyer who strongly recommend that I quickly get the gun out of state.. I did and they came knocking.. with a search warrant in hand..

if I wasn't in the service at the time,.. I would have let them think I had just hidden it.. instead of letting my attorney tell them i had disposed of the weapons in accordance with their laws..

that was 25 years ago..

state-of-ct-gun-letter-564x620.jpg

as you can see item #3 lets you remove it from the state.. but often the authorities will assume you would do either #2 or # 4

and absent of proof they will assume you kept it,.. and that will be the basis for the raid.. or search warrant.

at that point everything will get confiscated.. and you would have to fight to get them back.,...

and I doubt you would ever see them and if you did get them back expect them to be rendered inoperable ..

It's going to happen at some point. I think the prevailing thought is that most don't think that they won't try to take the guns, it is more of an over my dead body stance that it will spark an inferno in this country. I think there is a difference between what happened in Canada vs here now, at least my impression..... Obama civil army appears to be a much bigger threat than the liberal government of Canada at the time of gun registrations and confiscations and such.

They will eventually find the fight they're looking for and it will cost several good people plenty.

And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it's natural manure.- Thomas Jefferson

OT would say Jefferson was an anarchist. He was indeed. And that's a good thing for us.

PLEASE tell me why the American Liberal Politicians are so d*mn dumb. Why can't they just look at Canada to see what their Canadian counterpart/liberals have done and see that gun registries do nothing to protect anyone. Canadian Liberal swore up and down we needed a long gun registry to protect people. We paid two billion dollars and it failed to do what the libs said it would do so the Conservative Government did what should have been done before we wasted two billion dollars that could have been used in much smarter ways, they shut it DOWN.

The Liberals think the government can provide healthcare efficiently WRONG they provide waste, abuse, rationing, long wait times and HIGHER TAXES. Just ask Canada we have a system that will implode if not fixed but dare mention fixing it and people start yelling at you like you just called their loved one MONGRELS.

I love Canada but the liberals here have done to Canada what the US liberals are trying to stuff down your throats and it did/is not working out as great as they are telling you it is.

The one thing I do wish the US would have done that Canada has is put chips in your credit cards and readers in every store so things like the hacking Target got hit by is a little hard to pull off. But Nope protecting peoples identities is not high on the list of priorities as proven by the Obamacare website.
