Gowdy:states should bypass Obama and enforce immigration law

The border crisis is in full swing, leaving communities in Texas, California, Arizona, and around the country scrambling to find ways stop the federal government from dropping of illegals in their area.

Thousands of minors are continuing to pour into the country, packing shelters like sardines and draining local economies, forcing many angry citizens to step up and protest the government’s plan to dump the immigrants without any form of support.

A big part of the president’s job description is the enforcement of laws created by Congress. Unfortunately, Obama sees a political advantage in granting amnesty to illegals, so he refuses to carry out his duty.


Since Barack Obama refuses to do his job, it’s up to the states to bypass the president and enforce immigration laws to put a stop to the madness at the border.

Rep. Trey Gowdy has proposed legislation that recently passed the House Judiciary Committee which lays out a detailed plan for taking this course of action.

I had an epiphany earlier. While I was watching the news, suddenly it dawned on me that our resident Constitutional "expert" AND his boy are exactly alike. Both are phony, counterfeit Christians who live to appease Muslims. Both are "in it for what they can get out of it". Neither have any regard for the Constitution or our laws, UNLESS it suits their purpose. And both have a problem with successful conservative folks and consider them intellectually inferior.

I probably overlooked a lot. Feel free to add.

We only wish he was a "do nothing King." Everything he does is very much against the best interests of the United States.

You know, it's about time for a little domestic non violent disobedience. The courts want gay marriage, fine, let them run the clerks office to give them a license. Illegals want a drivers license, let the courts run the camera to take their picture and type in the info. All these illegal immigrant kids show up at school, don't enroll them. Let the national guard show up like in the 50's and teach the class.
It's time for some revolution. Just let Washington see if they are so dang capable of running anything.

it will be met with lawsuits from king obama's minions.. but it may show that more states are fed up with the federal goverment doing nothing...

Sounds great- but be a waste of time... This is one time that anyone with any common sense can see that laws pertaining to immigration and immigrants is given to the Federal government- and namely Congress... Spelled right out in the Constitution...

As late as June 25, 2012 the Supreme Court of the United States in a 5-3 decision of Arizona v U.S. reaffirmed that immigration law and illegal immigrants fall entirely under the jurisdiction of the Federal government and that states can not do anything contrary to or in interference of Federal policy....

If there is going to be any change to the law Congress passed in 2008- Congress now has to get their act together and pass another law...
Highly doubtful considering the do nothing history of this Congress and their lack of backbone on taking any stand that might cost them a vote...

The juvenile illegal immigrants are voluntarily crossing the border to find jobs and live with parents already in the United States, and so they aren’t covered by the 2008 anti-trafficking law, said Jon Feere, a legal analyst at the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), which supports a reduction in the annual inflow of 1 million immigrants and 800,000 guest-workers.

The debate over changing the law “should not become a distraction from addressing the bigger problem of lax enforcement [by the administration]… which continues to encourage people to come to the United States illegally,” he said.

That's right. If there is "Credible Evidence" of Trafficking for sexual or slavery purposes, the kid gets to have a court date. If not, send him/her home. It's as simple as that. Hell, Buckwheat sent two plane loads home just yesterday and could have sent a lot more. :wink:

It doesn't matter that it's technically correct or not. The progressives have a plan and whatever lie it takes to carryout the plan is not a big deal.

Good people get caught up arguing the inaccuracies and just like OT, Zero and his disciples don't respond. When caught in a lie, they just move on to another lie or ridiculous excuse.

Debate is futile. Debate only works for the honest.

It's not about congress passing or not passing a law, OT knows that. It is a ridiculous excuse, but it's something to spout while they continue to act lawlessly and to there end.

You missed this part that says this is the duty of Congress/federal government:

Would you kindly give me examples of the states enforcing/making federal law?

The County Attorney/State AG can't/doesn't file cases into Federal Court... The County Attorney/State AG doesn't/can't make the decisions on which cases to prosecute and which not to in federal court...

Local Officers may assist federal agents or arrest someone on a federal warrant-- BUT then that person is turned over to the feds for any continued action and prosecution in the federal judicial system... And that's the exact ruling the SCOTUS just gave on the Arizona case...

But its right in the Constitution- making of Immigration Law is the job of the US Congress- the Feds... Not every state making/enforcing its own immigration law or its interpretation of immigration law...
And that was just reaffirmed in the Arizona Case by the SCOTUS...They even questioned how far the state could go in assisting the Feds...
