Oh wow!!!! Got her Graduated!!!!! without sheadin any big ole Snoopy tears......that was a shock!!!!!

She made 5 trips up on stage to recieve scholarships and awards, and walked away with $11,000 in scholarships and a Dell Printer from a Computer teaching group here in our home town. Awesome!!!! We are sooooo proud of her, and for her.

Here's a few pictures of the evenin. They didn't allow her to wear her black cowboy hat instead of the graduation cap....but that's ok....she wore her boots LOL

Congratulations to Lil Lilly. She is a fine young lady, who works hard, is beautiful, and she makes us all proud. It has been a pleasure watching her grow up through the pictures you have posted. She has a great future ahead. :)

Congrats to you all! You have every right to be proud.

How many kiddos graduated? They just closed one of our little schools. The last graduating class had five graduates. We were invited and attended the ceremony, and I think it lasted over two hours  but it was well worth it!

Congrats and cheers---

TTB

There were five graduates. I think it took about an hour and a half. The slideshow they presented...which I'll post pictures of maybe tomorrow, took longer than just about anything else. But that's always the fun part of it, seein them from babies til now.
We are off to a barrel race today. I'll try to get the slides posted so you all can see them.

Thanks everyone!!!!

Thanks ya'll :D

Yes she'll been accepted to Sam Houston State University, and will do her first four years there...and get her Animal Science degree. Then hopefully she'll be accepted into Texas A&M Vet School where it'll take six more years to get her DVM. She plans on specializing in large animals.... primarily focusing on horses and cattle.

I can't believe you did shed crocadile tears! Did ya have your kleenex box handy just in case?lol You and Mr. Lilly did a great job with her, and her achievements reflect on her happy homelife and parent support!

Welcome to the world of college life..lol It doesn't slow down any, and in my situation, it keeps me on the road attending all that my kid is involved with...which I love...oh ya then there's that little thing called money...don't plan on getting your nails done for awhile...lol

Congradulations Lil Lilly! I'm so dang proud of you!!! p.s. if ya run short on cash you can always hustle pool....lol j/k

Yeap you read right. Only 5. And I failed to mention...4 of the 5 have been together since Kindergarten.

Amazing. There were 80 some in my graduating class and I don't even want to think of how many total is in my son's class, who will be in 2nd grade in August. Now, get off message boards and have fun with your family and daughter!

Congratulations to both the daughter and the parents! With my 'baby' turning 45 in a couple of weeks, I realize it is much more difficult raising kids today.

We are sending a granddaughter off to U. of NE, Lincoln to start on the road to becoming a DVM as well. She is quite sure she wants to be a large animal vet, too.

We attended her graduation at Bellevue, NE. 367 graduates! Took about 1.5 hours. It was a well practiced event, with music, slide show, and two Valedictorian speeches! Seats in the gymn were at a premium, requiring a 2.5 hour wait for the guy saving seats, with the rest of us needing to arrive an hour+ before the 9:30 AM event. Baccalaureate two nights earlier was more relaxed, as not all seniors participated. Nice party at her home after, just like in the small schools in our area (western SD). She got great academic scholarships, too. Those are a true Godsend to average families who don't have major problems. Looking for financial assistance, scholarships, or loand, she learned that if her parents were socially disfunctional in some way, she would have qualified for all kinds of financial aid. The family was just too normal. Pretty sad commentary on our society today!

Our local highschool had to give up three years ago when we had only three graduates. Rather like it started out in 1912, or so. One graduate one year back then, and they had the whole shebang, music, Baccalaureate, Valedictory speech, graduation speaker, processional march, and all. Think our area schools now graduate from 20 to 40, maybe. Our other grandgirl in Bellevue has over 400 in her class, so we will do it all over in three years, including an 8 hour drive, each way to get there! But it's worth it.

So, much congratulations to the "lilly" family and best wishes for great success for your daughter.
