Greenhouse Gas tax???

If folks don't get on top of this, it will come up in every state. Instead of them wanting a tax why don't they address the real problem and make auto mfg. get higher gas mileage???

Vehicle licensing fees in Washington State could spike dramatically, all in the name of global warming. Six Seattle Democrats in the state Senate are trying to push through a bill that would require the Department of Licensing to collect a greenhouse gas tax. Sponsors say the tax in Senate Bill 6923 is an effective way to fight global warming by giving the state more money to fund transportation alternatives. If it passes, there will be an extra tax on your yearly license tab fees, based on EPA estimated miles per gallon your vehicle gets. The bill states vehicles getting below 15 miles per gallon will be charged between $200 and $240 extra every year. Vehicles that get between 15 and 25 miles per gallon, will pay $100 to $180 dollars extra every year. Vehicles getting over 26 miles per gallon, will pay between $40 and $100 extra every year. Vehicles that don't have an estimated fuel economy rating will be charged a fee based on engine size.

Wonder what they'll charge us that use water instead of 100% gas and get 40-50 miles per gallon.

I dont think it's all in the car manufacturing, I think it has much to do with the poor quality gas we get. If you put an additive in your gas and clean up your fuel system you'll burn cleaner and get better gas mileage. Same with diesels I know because I've been using additives for 30 years. I have a diesel car that I increased it by 5 mpg. a 97 chevy pickup I increased by 5 mph gal, just using a gas additive. Farm tractors I've cut fuel consumption by a gal an hr.
Now with this new kit I'm adding I look to increase another 30 to 50%.

Global warming my foot.

Just get the govt out of the way and we'd all be okay.

olderroper, If you keep posting, I'll be reading this forum more often.

I will second that motion..... curious, what it you additive? I use Fuel Wise, in the fuel and in the crankcase when I change oil....upped it by 6 gal per mile.
the local school system has been running it in their busses for a few months now!
