David Gregory mocked the NRA's Wayne LaPierre for proposing that armed guards be at every school in America. But the NBC host seems to have no problem with armed guards protecting his kids everyday where they attend school in Washington, D.C.

Police in Washington DC are investigating whether NBC’s David Gregory violated the city’s gun law when he held up a high-capacity magazine for ammunition during Sunday’s episode of Meet the Press.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier confirmed to Breitbart that her department is “investigating the incident to determine if the magazine was in fact real.”

In D.C., it is illegal to possess “any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm.” NBC’s Meet the Press is usually taped in DC.

Steve- most Federal gun laws have been a joke for a long time-- and unless someone was a known badass (or political target) they wanted to take down- few were enforced...

Back in the 80's/90's- we had many felons purchasing weapons- that the
US attorneys refused to prosecute (too busy- court docket too full)... I had one that I had a shakey concealed weapon case on- but a fantastic felon purchasing a weapon (witness's, FFA forms, etc) but the US attorney refused to prosecute.... I chewed his arse from one end to the other when the same guy went ballistic in road rage at the King Ave interchange in Billings and threw some lady out of her vehicle onto the street- assaulted her- and scared the shite out her kids.... Besides Yellowstone County then prosecuting for Felony Assault- the US attorney finally filed the charges for felon in possession...

BUT it is again another situation where the partisan politics is going to have to end-- and some of these Federal Judge/Magistrate appointments that have been open for years and years are going to have to be filled and the courts allowed to operate....

Another reason I'd like to legalize marijuana- free up the courts/prosecuters and take the profit and huge costs of prosecution and imprisonment away from it... Might not work-- but the War on Drugs long ago was lost with the direction we have been on....

I guess if you are one of those many otherwise law abiding folk who get prison terms for violating a technicality in the gun control laws, you wouldn't see the humor in your joke... :?

I'll be damn, check the date on this.

Clinton also unveiled the $60-million fifth round of funding for "COPS in School," a Justice Department program that helps pay the costs of placing police officers in schools to help make them safer for students and teachers. The money will be used to provide 452 officers in schools in more than 220 communities.

Not only did Clinton provide more funding as a direct response to the Columbine incident, but he was the one who implemented the COPS in Schools program in the first place. And it was President Obama who cut funding for the program.
