Northern Lights Wildlife Society does a fantastic job!!.
Please vote for them in the Pepsi Refresh Project. It doesn't cost you anything but a minute of your time. I'd love to see them get to rank #1.
You can vote once a day. :D Thanks everyone. :D

"Northern Lights Wildlife Society has been rehabilitating wildlife in BC since 1989. Although we accept most species, we specialize in the care of large mammals (particularly bears, moose and deer). The grizzly project is one of the first in the world to both rehab and study orphaned grizzly cubs"

Sorry JB, I can't vote for that.

Orpaned cubs should be reabilitated with a 30-06. A tame bear is never anything but a tame bear.

They are not tame and won't be.
Here is their website, maybe have a look before you're so quick to judge.

"Fortunately most animals seem to make a distinct difference when dealing with their handlers or strangers. This fact ensures that proper care can be given, while still securing the safety of other humans. Up-to-date none of the animals raised at the shelter have become nuisance animals."

I am against making wild animals pets. It seems this is conservation, if we take any link of the chain we damage all of us.
From reading the posts yall come across that you want all prediters dead...now think what will that do to the prey animals?
I know some have issue feeding Moose, deer, ect are you ready to feed more? I know I am not.
No I dont have an issue of killing a wolf, coyote, or bear who is endangering livestock. If it is out in the woods let them be.

And if it is out in the woods the cub would probably die. So who's meddling with nature? :?

Good point LOLOLOLOLOL

I am not going to tell another man what to do on his place. Just asking not to brag about it on line.....I would hate for anyone to get a "jiggesy vist"
NO I would never call and "report" anyone but you really dont know whom is reading.

We all know that Polar bears all work for Coke so they have a place to live and health insurance

So what is everyone's big fear of bears?

I agree if there is a problem bear, then it does need to be "taken care of"
In reality how many bears have killed livestock?... then look at much livestock are taken by disease, accidents, dogs, human stupidity and neglect?
If you live, work or play in bear areas then you need to be aware of them at all times. Chances are slim that you'd get attacked by a bear but yes it could happen, but don't provoke it either.
I fear humans more than I would fear a bear. People physically abuse, and kill more people than bears do. I feel much more comfortable walking through the bush than I do walking down a city street.

I'm quite sure there are far more bears/wildlife that die in the wild than Northern Lights Society rehabilitate and release.

It is the current policies that all bears are released in their original home range. As they say on their site...
" Up-to-date none of the animals raised at the shelter have become nuisance animals." Northern Lights have been doing this for over 20 years.

I enjoy seeing wildlife on my property as probably most of you do too. I don't mind if they're there as long as they're not bothering my livestock. I have far more trouble with people trespassing on my property bothering my livestock than any wildlife.

If I were independently wealthy or had a seasonal job that I didn't have to work the other half of the year I would be a volunteer there. Imagine the endless learning opportunity working there.

Hay Maker, why should anyone respect you when you insult Jigger Boss like that. You just go do what you want and let her do what she wants. What's so hard about that?

I just consider the source Haymaker.

Does that include people? I personally know of several ranchers that have lost cattle and horses to "poachers"... far more of those 'varmints' feeding off rancher's livelihood than bears.
