I don't know if it's just me or what. But ranchers.net has been givin me grief this last week or so. I can look at one or two posts, then it basically locks up on me, and I hafta restart the computer, log in again, only to have it do it again. I can go anywhere else on the internet and this doesn't happen. Only on ranchers.

Anyone else havin this problem?

Yep- been doing that for me too-- freezes up in the middle of posts- then sticks on double posts....Macon may have to upgrade this site to the type he put on cattletoday- altho I don't like that as well...

I don't HAFTA reboot to use any other websites. It just seems to help with ranchers if I go ahead and do that.

Wonder what's so different about cattle today. Been a while since I visited over there.

Hay Maker, in your case, it is not the server or the computer's fault.

I believe it's the hand of God intervening and sparing you from your own folly.  :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Same here....but I go to another web site and and then go back to ranchers from there and it seems to shake it loose.

Lot of times I have to completely re-log in.

And it always happens it seems right in the heat of a battle also!!!

I just "lurk" over there, but I tell you what, those guys get topics locked faster than you can say "Jimmy Crack Corn!" hope that doesn't happen here if it changes!

Many times, clicking on a post to view it, results in nothing at all.

Yes, this site seems to have it's problems.

Admins....chime in.

I have been having problems with ranchers.net too.
It takes so long for the box to come up so that I can reply to
a message, or sometimes, all I can get to is the home page.

HELP, MACON!!

Every time I see the title to this post....I cringe. I tried to put the lil red face emoticon  in the title line, and apparently that don't work. I'm not "mad" just, I guess you could say, frustrated. LOL

I think I read somewhere on the other site where Macon was fishing in Mexico-- so maybe it will take a day or two to get a response...

I apologize. I dropped the ball on this one.

I been covered up for the last couple of months working on a couple of travel and vacation sites and just haven't been checking here.

Yesterday I did the quick and easy stuff like rebooting the server and deleting a bunch of temp files. Is it any better?

I'll check tomorrow and see if the data center can add 2 megs memory to the server. Depends on whether there are a couple of empty slots on the motherboard. I'll try to convert the software to the new phpBB3 in the next month. Forum should be offline for a couple of hours. That will take me about a week to complete.

If none of that solves the problem I guess it's time to move to a new server. This one's almost 5 years old and in computer time that's forever.
