I am sick of insurance companies. We have 4 vehicles and 3 drivers. My insurance company had a secretary quit , evidently a valuable one. Since summer they have had my combine insurance wrong. They wanted 150 for the combines and 200 for each header or something stupid like that. Finally got that strait and paid. We have a car coming due every day it seems like, they sent us a past due bill on one vehicle . We thought we'd paid so my wife calls , girl said , yep, you guys are square with the world, don't owe a thing. Today we get a cancelation notice and 375dollars in the mail. I call the new secretary and she said we didn't pay a 40 dollar bill. I tell her my wife called just the other day to see if it's strait. Lady said that she's right(ins co) and we're wrong. We pay 578.00 each quarter for liability of 3 rigs and full coverage on 1. 2312.00 per year and I saw my insurance man day before yesterday and he can't tell me they are canceling me for 40 bucks???? When I was in paying the combine insurance, I asked them if they could just put all the ins in one bill where I could pay once a year and know that I've paid till next year, can't do that she says. :x

We have no wrecks , no tickets, always pay. I am taking the wifes van to liability as well and shoping for a new ins co. :x Does anyone do anything online at geico or such? I don't think any insurance pays anyway. The less you have the better. Should drop it on the [email protected]!!!
We also have ins on the house, farm liability, barns, and life with this same co. I don't know how much for sure but I bet we spend 5000.00 per year with this co and they cancel me for 40 bucks (that I don't owe)

I still use the insurance company that my Dad et up for me when I was 16.. When I got my firts car, about the time I was 24 or so we set up my own policy lickity split with no problems at all. My wife, always has used the local State Farm or Allstate (can't remember) because "it is good to have that local guy there for you if you need him!) which is what her Dad told her.. A few years back we slid down a hilld and got clipped by a semi about 1.5 miles away from their office in the car they insured. So helpful that they 1) Didn't even ask if we were okay 2) Wouldn't even set up a tow 3) Couldn't bother helping us find a way home or rent a car or have a company they prefered working with. It was call us when you have the bill for repariss and oh, don't forget to keep senind those premiums in.. Oh and the premiums went trhough the roof.

The other accident I have been in in my life as a driver was much worse and it was in my truck in Bozeman. Couldn't have been happier dealing with my insurance company who offered to bump me up to a equivlant car when it came to the rental vehicle while mine was getting fixed. Who called to update me on what was going on and to make sure everything was okay and ho barely nudged up my premiums even though it was my fault. This coming from people I have never seen or met.. Oh, and they are cheaper than the local guy by a pretty penny.. Oh well, done ranting, I would say try Geico or AIG Red Robin because they can't be any worse than this local ##4^ was here.

Checked with geico. Dropping the grain truck (they don't insure f750's and I don't know what that costs. and a farm truck which dosns't hit the road) and going with full coverage on my wifes rig, just like we had it but minus these two old trucks it's 1700yr. Going with liability it's 900yr. They don't offer a yearly bill so I'm still shoping. Insurance is a waste anyway IMO.

State Farm has done well by us even for accidents. Hope you get some satisfaction soon. Did you try calling someone over the secretary. Or write the company president?

We use Progressive. Have a million dollars of coverage on the KW and also insure 2 1 ton and 3/4 ton trucks. Plus the stock trailer.

I can change the policy on the pick-up online and my account will either be charged or credited.
I have not looked into insureing the farm and house thru Progressive.

My sales agent is a friend of mine. Cut his seed sometimes. Trouble is he knows and admits it's a wreck in the office and I'm sick of fooling with the. I don't want an insurance company I have to keep books for. I can only imagine how bad it'd be if I had a claim.

Are you using Farm Bureau? We've got most of our insurance through them and they sure have been good to deal with. Of course, you never really know how good an insurance company is until you have to file a claim.

Yep, and I found out the hard way that NONE of them are good.

I agree with you cert. Just wish I had nerve enough to take ins off the house, barns, farm liability etc. Still might.

We have had Farm Bureau Insurance since the 60's and I can
honestly say they are more than fair. I wouldn't deal with anyone
else. We have had claims and our insurance never went up any
more than anyone elses.

In the 60's we had an incident that convinced us of Farm Bureau
Insurance. Mr. FH brother, 15 at the time, no driver's license, driving
an old Jeep, not licensed and not insured. He had to go
up the highway 1/4 mile to go into a pasture. He was at the approach,
ready to turn. He looked in his rear view mirror and saw a pickup
coming, quite aways back. He made his turn, having to cross lanes.
The pickup was coming at a high rate of speed, and intending to pass.
When Mike crossed into the left lane, the pickup had to go back to
the right lane. In doing so, the pickup caught the hitch on the jeep.
It threw the pickup into the barrow pit. Didn't hurt the jeep, outside
of shaking up the kid. The driver of the pickup was a Spainard that
worked for one of the neighboring ranches. He jumped out, said," Nothing hurt, nothing hurt." Jumped back in and drove off. Mike came back
to the house and told us what happened. He was very shook up.

Well, apparently there was something hurt because the owner of
the pickup called and wanted us to pay for the damage. It was one
of the older Dodges that had the double wall box and the hitch on the Jeep damaged the box. I was young and scared,
because he had money, we did not and nothing of ours that was in the
accident was really legal. But his driver was noted for driving terribly
fast. Well, it went on and we contacted our Farm Bureau Insurance.
They advised us to get a highway patrolman out there to measure
the skid marks. It was about a week later when the HP showed up
and the marks had faded some. After he measured them, he said
the pickup was going in excess of 90 mph. and he didn't see how
we could be at fault. So we contacted Farm Bureau and told them
of the findings. They said that our Jeep was not insured with them, BUT
since everything else was they would stand behind it and cover the claim.

Luckily, the HP convinced the other rancher that he should drop
the subject and pay for his own repairs or his driver could be
faced with a reckless driving charge.

We have stuck with Farm Bureau Insurance ever since.
We get excellent service on our claims.

We had Geico on all our vehicles til last year when my daughter got her driver's license......our rates went through the roof on ALL our vehicles...not just the ONE car she drives, but on ALL of them!! Ended up wayyyyy out of our price range, so we dropped and went with a local company!!

My sister and her husband have Geico and are very unhappy with them. Her car was caught in a hell storm this summer and they have had no end of trouble getting an adjuster to look at the car to start with. Now that the car is in the shop and being repaired the company is telling them that they will only pay of a rental for part of the time the car is in the shop and they are supposed to pay 25 a day for a rental car and are only paying 15. Lots of little agrivating things that a pregnate lady should not be having to deal with.

I have Progessive...through all of my vehicular hunting events, they've never questioned anything, adjusted same day, and not raised my premiums. Try Progressive, and for gosh sakes don't drop coverage on your house, or any liability!

Cheers---

We have farm buraue and love it....... Had state farm, but found out they had other people on our policy... I was rearended and they were no help with me in filing a claim.......

We have an umbrella policy and it covers alot of stuff like hubby's elevators for fertilizer that wouldn't normally be covered... Even the barney mobile if it's parked in the shed..........

I've stuck with my American Family agent for twenty-five years. Never had to overly fight with them to cover a claim. They are a bit more spendy than some other agents here, but I figure you get what you pay for.
Some say that Famer's Union insurance is a bugger to get money out of. I have a very few tickets to my name, none on my record, and only one claim. Other accidents have been the fault of the other driver. Some of their insurances haven't been very good to deal with either.
Insurance folks are the peak of fairweather friends. As long as the premiums keep rollin' in, they're your best buddy. File a claim and they don't want to know you.

I had State Farm for years until they tried to change the distance from the fire house to the farm every year. I switched to ALFA several years ago and got better coverage and better service.
If you don't have someone that you can talk to that can make your insurance work the way you want it then find one that will.

Nothing gets me hotter than insurance companies. I am 65 and had my first ever fender bender a couple years ago. Nothing serious, no damage to my pickup but creased the right rear fender of a woman passing me. I was at fault. A few days later my ins. co. calls asks me a few questions. A couple weeks later I get a letter from my ins. co. stating that there was a $6,000 medical claim by the driver of the car I creased.
I called my ins. co. and explained there was absolutely no injury to the other driver. I was told I was not qualified to determine bodily injury. Good thing I was not face to face with that jerk or there would have been some bodily injury. Bottom line they paid $6,000 bodily injury with out even challenging it. Do you wonder why our premiums are high

Care to state who the insurance carrier is?

I'm 64 had State Farm since a teenager. Never had any serious claims. BUT....since moving to Texas 20 years ago, I hate the rep I have, and have been tempted to switch just because of him.

The company is Farm Bureau. I stayed with them. My agent solved all my problems and lowered my rate and gave me the one yearly payment the office girls said they couldn't give. I'm satisfied for now. I like my agent and hope the company will come through if I have a claim of any size. We'll see.

Glad it worked out, RR. I truly do think FB is a good company.

Any insurance is only as good as the man you deal with face
to face.

We had a little incident here where a semi ran over our Scout.
We turned in a replacement value for the Scout and of course,
the ins. company (not ours) didn't like the value and they were
going through a bunch of hoops trying to prove it wasn't worth
what we said it was. I called someone in the company that owned
the semi and told him what was going on. I said, "you know, if
someone said, I'll give you $2500 for that Scout as it sits there,
we would not have done it." Soon the insurance company called
with a WHOLE different attitude and we got what we thought the
Scout was worth.

Gosh, their insured ran over it, we didn't. And we were
without one til we could find one. It's not just the value, its
the inconvenience as well. Luckily we found one in about a
month and not too far away. But we were sweatin it for
awhile.
