Guard dog ?

Hey, thanks so much hayguy and Jody. I am hoping that he will like to hang out in the machine sheds where I store my small straw bales or the calving shed with the cows that is always clean with lots of straw. Just trying to be prepared . :D

she watches her ewes close, keeps a eye on the cows , she check out everybody going to moms house if she not far away with the sheep. she hates the loons on the river in the spring and the trumputer swans in the winter
 
We make a dog house every fall out of square bales. If he's staying with the cows that could be an issue though. They'd eat him out of house and home! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Almost had them talked into delivering him . Rats .. :wink: I will make the 4 hour trip tomorrow, hope he is a good traveller. As soon as I said I wanted him, they have been getting lots of calls from others ,especially sheep handlers wanting him now too.

I found an insulated dog house on freecycle, it is 43 " high and 34" long, will that be big enough for him ??? It should be high enough but not sure about the length though.

Kato, he would be homeless in no time if I did that, especially second cut alfalfa . :lol:

I though I would put the house in the machine shed and stack with sm sq straw or hay bales . That way he can come and go as he pleases . He will be close to the house as well as the calving areas.

Haven't told hubby yet that he is coming here for sure. He has been gone all week . I should put a bow on Spartan and tell him it is his early Christmas present . 8)
