The mother of the 10-year-old reportedly shot by a gun he was carrying during a fight on a bus says she's "pissed off."
Charges could be filed as early as today, against the boy and his 12 and 14-year-old half brothers, who are accused of trying to rob a 17-year-old on a Metro Bus this week.
The 4-foot-1 inch tall, chubby cheeked boy sat in King County juvenile court, nursing his wounded arm on Wednesday.
Prosecutors say the 10-year-old boy is dangerous.
The gun went off during the robbery attempt, wounding the 10-year-old.
"I'm pissed off right now," said the boys mother in court. "You just don't know how mad I am. These people are railroading my kids."
The mother became so agitated, Judge Julia Garratt told her to settle down. "I'm sorry, I know you're upset-"
"I'm VERY upset!" said the mother.
"This is a court process," Garratt said.
"OK I'll be quiet. I'm upset, though, as a parent" the mother said.
The boys were ordered to be held. Police say the 10-year-old is suspect in 13 crimes, 7 of them felonies.
He has not been charged. Under Washington State law, children aged 9 to 11 are presumed "incapable" of committing a crime, so a hearing will have to be held to determine if the boy understood what he did was wrong.
