Alabama House Bill 516, gun owner privacy protection legislation, is stuck in the state House and needs your help! Sponsored by state Representative Micky Hammon (R-4), HB 516 would prohibit medical practitioners from requiring patients to divulge information about private firearm ownership. HB 516 would then bar them from denying medical care to patients who refuse to disclose such information about firearms, ammunition or storage methods. Some legislators are delaying a vote on HB 516 and are even considering an anti-gun amendment in order to appease the medical community over your right to privacy and to own a firearm.

Mike, can you relate this information more closely to Obama or the Fed. govt. asking for this information?

Indeed. I've seen politicians of both parties offer legislation prohibiting something that was never proposed in the first place. The result is that it gives the impression to the public that what's being prohibited was actually sought by others.

Simple, it is related de facto. Kathleen Sebelius, and her successors, will/are write the Wellness & Prevention features in Obamacare. Gun ownership and some related accidents, suicides, getting shot during the commision of a gun toting robbery or crime, etc. have been designated as unhealthy activities by the left.

Just google "Private Guns, Public Health".

Since private insurance will have to compete directly with Obamacare, they must ask for the same information in order to calculate premiums and be competitive.

This is a way to skirt the 2nd Amendment.

Not even my Homeowners insurance at present asks for gun information unless I want to insure a gun with a declared value.

Some doctors are their collaborators and information gatherers in the huge patient info system associated with Obamacare.

Sebelius' track record on gun owership is clear and NO ONE knows what will be included in the final measure in Obamacare yet. The Bill gives her way too much power.
