Yes, we are quite happy to have them out already. That Fall Rye is awesome stuff...

I have always thought the longest time of year is from April 20 till the last bale is fed. Cows are fussy, other work needs doing, the hay pile is dwindling. Gosh it would be nice to quit now but I will have to feed at least 10 more days.

I hear that. A week ago we had a snow storm, then a Nor' Easter heading our way. Looked like I would be feeding hay for a while. The Nor'Easter hit last Monday, turned out to be a ton of rain with flooding. I was activated with the National Guard until Friday, By Friday everything was drying up, amazing. Looks like we're back on track. Everything is greening up here in Maine, should have the cows on pasture pretty soon.
