Now we're on the same page...straight barley (nothing else added) makes the fat taste strange...almost rancid tasting...I don't mind feeding with barley as an ingredient.

"Sounds good, but I'm afraid Hanta's veggies will have frost on them before its the next time I get a chance to get out of the county.....I think the last time was the Chase Hawks in 04....."

C'mon, don't a party pooper...I promise I won't get into any debates about R-Calf...I don't treat my guests well by getting into an argument.

Looks like the state has a fair shot at rain, or thunderstorms for tonite and tomorrow--70-90% chances of rain- and the weather boys are saying where it hits could be abundant amounts of moisture.....

We're getting rain as the cells come over us... I have the weather channel desktop, it's pretty good...yesterday gave us 60% chance of rain at about 5:00 for today, guess what? At 5 to 5 Montana Cowgurl and I were racing home to beat the first wall of rain that came through...almost made it :p

Well this is a very special day. I am very close to my Dad and he has been more of a dad to my sons than a g.father. I suppose it is really hard not to compare other men to him, he has been such a role model not only to us, but to other kids growing up. He would do anything to make sure children had what they needed, and help out in situations that they needed some guidance. I can remember my friends, even boys I would date going to him to find out what he thought about things. He would always start out, I aint a educated man...but he was the smartest man I knew.

I am glad you fellas all had a special day and I want to hear what else you all did....we are heading out for dinner and celebrate just a little longer.

Huggsss to you all,
Easty
I spent most of my Fathers day on a bus headin' home from Mine rescue competition -but Fathers day was brought up on ride, and heard some good stories of everyones Dad,was inspiring. For me ,made me think of my family members asking why anyone would leave a troghy buckle against a hedstone. Respect?

had a WONDERFUL father's day in north dakota with the dad and the hubby!!! Good to see my dad, again....even if his health is steadily declining!! Good for the kids to see him, too....although, demodriver took it pretty hard...she had not seen him in well over a year and his appearance came as quite a shock to her....she was not prepared to see her hearty, strong pappy reduced to skin and bones!! had 4 good days and brought home a lifetime of memories.....on the way home, the radio station played Brad Paisley's "He didn't have to be" just as we got to the Montana border......awful hard to keep the tears at bay when they do that to ya!!

when we went to the lake to take dad fishing for the day, and everyone was talking about their parents, grandparents, and when it was my turn (we had o say something about a dad or grandfather and the brother already did dad)Andf I talked about my grandpa matt-I started having tears roll down my cheeks when I said the words, "Grandpa Matt was not only a man with respect, but he was the nicest man I ever knew, he was there when you had a problem, was there when you ghad something exciting to say, adn he was at your sports events to watch his grandkids teach everyone how it was done." When I was done I had everyone in tears, wether they knew him or not. lol.

I think it is respect greg, and when grandpa died I put my cattle ribbons and trophies that he had in the hosptial with him cause he loved how much they brightened uop the room, and to brag about his first grandson,a nd when they told me that I wasn't supposed to bury them with him, someone said that grandpa would have wanted i tthat way, and there was a chorus of agreement. It scared me when I held his hand for the last time and felt the cold lifeless hand, I knew he was up there, and I cried for almost a week.

I'm so happy that you had a good visit with your dad, ranchwife.
Seeing family members in declining health is quite a shock to kids
who don't see them every day, but it is a good thing in a way. Kids
think that will never happen to them, and it is a dose of reality.
Kinda gives them something to thing about in regard to their own
life and how they live it.

I was in Dickinson on Wednesday and I thought you mentioned your
dad lived in Lefor, so I drove out there thinking I might find you.
Didn't see any vehicles from Montana so I figured I was too early.
That is a lovely little spot. I liked it and the drive there from
Dickinson. Had never been down the Enchanted Highway before
either. Of course there are only a couple of statues before Lefor,
but they were really neat to see. I was hoping I would find you,
but that will have to wait for another day.
